War in Ukraine

Chechens are the worst. Here I was thinking Putin hated them too. I was seriously misinformed, the few Russians I’ve known absolutely loathed the Chechens because they are Islamic weirdo terrorist

I remember the Chechen rebels storming a Moscow theatre and taking a bunch of hostages. The Russians pumped chemicals into the theater and killed the Chechens and about 150 of the hostages.

That idiot killed the Keystone, and oil prices immediately surged and have been going higher ever since.

When energy costs more, it is a devastating ripple effect on everything, the green commie assholes are choking poor working people like me out, with no end in sight...but hey they did "something" about their new boogeyman.

Energy costs can undermine an economy faster than anything else - even the most regressive taxes or tariffs. Energy supply and cost affects everything and everyone - generally in multiples because you pay higher prices with less disposable income that has been reduced by paying directly for your own heating or cooling and transportation. Energy options are limited - especially in the short term and easily manipulated by markets that set prices based on events that haven't even come to fruition - somebody sneezes near a refinery and prices go up. Not saying government should meddle, but perhaps some investigation into collusion and monopolistic behavior is warranted - in addition to shutting down government stupidity regarding energy control and direction.

If I was a "thick mother******", who didn't know anything about economics, I would probably think that the out-of-control deficit spending done under the Trump administration, has nothing to do with the historic inflation that we are seeing. (which is what you apparently think)
You mean Covid 19 Pandemic included in that out-of-control deficit spending of 2020. Wouldn't that also include Biden in year 1 as out-of-control deficit with his Covid 19 Pademic

And meanwhile, the petroleum industry continues its streak of record profits and continued acceptance of government handouts.

Alberta tar sh!t is still making it's way to coastal refineries by way of train. It's not like ending the imminent domain seizure of property (which I thought was supposed to be a bad thing?) resulted in a net drop in production. Far from it.

There's a lot more moving parts involved than people either know about or want to think about. I personally choose speculators as my focus of choice.

Gonna be some angry Russian men soon

This was the real nuclear option. Sanctions just went full throttle.

The truth that it wouldn't happen under him? Because that is what he said. Not a good day for the left spin looking for equity to followers.

I'm just saying you only supposed to be taking bits and pieces of what he said and creating a whole opinion piece that doesn't resemble his initial statement and spice it up with sensationalism.

Damn, can you be honest with yourself about anything concerning Trump? Trump's free-spending budget proposals pre-dated COVID... even though he had pledged to completely eliminate the debt during the 2016 campaign, he instead added to the debt by historic proportions even though the state of the economy from 2017-2019, didn't necessitate stimulus packages. Trump bears a great deal of responsibility for the inflation that we are seeing as a result. His budget proposals were irresponsible and unnecessarily large.

Russian invasion: Biden in 2019 said 'imagine what can happen in Ukraine' under Trump

Biden remarks resurface amid ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine

Back in 2019, then-candidate Biden took a dig at Trump while speaking at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Women’s Leadership Forum Conference, warning the audience against voting to re-elect Trump by suggesting a hypothetical fall of Ukraine.

"It’s going to take a hell of a lot of work to make up for all the damage he’s done internationally and nationally," Biden said. "His network of thugs and co-conspirators are going to continue to try to undermine our democracy in the meantime."

"Imagine what he can do in another year," Biden continued. "Imagine what can happen to Ukraine."

Maybe, just maybe, when a certain political party decides that we don't need oil anymore and hitch our wagon to solar panels and windmills, and then we find ourselves watching an adversary flipping us off we might change the climate change BS.

Russians have always been subtle and restrained in that way - measured "mostly appropriate" response - they did get the bad guys. Ivan the Terrible had frying pans for people he didn't care much for - seems like it just comes with the territory - a nation of thugs and victims with little else to offer.

It is important that everyone understand that the US is NOT sending troops. The US is NOT sanctioning. This is the ENTIRE FREE WORLD acting. There may be NO Americans in the UN special units (IDK), but anyone trying to put these moves on Biden are setting themselves up for disaster, and are more than likely Russian operatives trying to create a pretext.

Yes, there's been an unfortunate history of appeasement in Europe, but outside of getting the US forces in front of live bullets again its not easy to stop a determined tyrant. Trump was an isolationist and the only tool in his toolbox was bluster.

Speaking of playing an American President, I remember trump siding with Putin over our intelligence agencies in Helsinki. Trump fawns over Putin like a 11 year old girl at a Kpop concert.

Yes and Biden told the world that he was the one that Putin feared and that he would keep him in check. I would say that they’re equally worthless but when Trump was in office Russian troops were on what geographers refer to as ”the other side of the border”.

Trump also said he would eliminate the national debt. Trump says a lot of bs. There is no spin required here, just his own butt-kissing words.

If Trump was ever going to stand up to Putin, he would have done it in December of 2020, after the Russian cyber attack. He sided with Putin instead.
