War in Ukraine

The complete lack of rational thought behind this meme is mind-boggling.

Donald *literally* called Putin's moves "genius" for invading Ukraine. And, somehow, the Dumb Donald Drones think he would do what... help Ukraine? Help Putin?

The correct answer of course is (C) Help Donald.

Donald is all about Donald. PERIOD. Always has been, always will be.

This is why I never rely on The Burger King's brother for perspective.

God Bless the Ukranian resistance so far. Gotta think these acts of selflessness and heroism will just inspire more resistance.

Seems like we (NATO) could be assisting by providing critical arms such as anti-tank, anti-air munitions. I assume there are still routes from the West that could be used to move them in - even if we "drop" them at the Ukrainian border.

(maybe we are already doing this?)

What if the Russians lay siege? Acoording to what we are hearing that seems the plan rather than get bogged down in urban warfare
Would NATO try a Berlin Bridge?
The Berlin Airlift?

2 key distinctions:

1- West Berlin had autonomous control of an air field.
2- Cleary defined, written down, and signed protocols governing air space in E Germany.

well, 4 years and nothing. 1 year later invasion. You can draw your own conclusion.
It's not accurate to say "4 years and nothing." Russia had been fueling a conflict in the Donbass region of Ukraine, since before Trump even took office. Putin has now dramatically stepped up the levels of Russian aggression, but this is not a new conflict.

Good for them but do we need another proxy war?

This does remove some of the mystique around Russian forces though. I'm sure the ME did the same to us for other countries though

Not gonna lie…I am shocked Ukraine hasn’t fallen already.

Either Putin isn’t actually trying to seize the country or Ukraine has a much better defense system than most believed.

Either way, I am honestly a bit confused right now of the slowness.

My $0.02.

(1) Ukraine is the size of Texas.
(2) Ukraine has a decent western-trained military.
(3) Ukraine has Stingers, Javelins, drones and a few decent fighter jets.
(4) Ukraine is fighting on defense.
(5) Ukrainians know their land.
(6) Ukrainians are fighting for their homes and lives.
(7) We're still at the onset of the war.
(8) Ukraine likely cannot stand up to Russia in the long run in a conventional war.
(9) When Ukraine loses the conventional war, it may become an insurgency.
(10) Insurgencies / Urban combat can last for years.

So what are you suggesting we do? Put our people in harms way? For all the people saying Trump is a Putin puppet, Biden gave Putin a huge win with his pipeline decision.

I’m suggesting no one has said they are a Utopian democracy and that fiscal responsibility has long ago expired in this country.

Said the independent thinker who ensured the polar opposite of limited gov and fiscal conservatism control the WH and congress.

This is purposeful satire, right?

Trump insured Biden's victory, not the loss of my single vote.

Think bigger.

I believe the US and Britain directly and via NATO allies already gave Ukraine 1 Javelin for every 1 Russian tank expected in the field. They're $100K/each FWIW.

Just think of what could have happened if we had given them the $80B worth of weapons we left behind in Afghanistan that they are now selling to every terrorist organization in the world.

I don't live in hypotheticals. History says when Trump was in office Ukraine wasn't invaded by Russia, you can draw your own conclusions with current events.

You don't live in hypotheticals but you do live in deductions, extrapolations and presumptions?

Did the US leave $80 billion in weapons behind in Afghanistan?

This is not true. A viral meme claims the U.S. left more than $80 billion worth of weapons behind in Afghanistan, calling it the “Taliban’s new arsenal.” The $80 billion figure does not reflect the amount of equipment acquired by the Taliban after America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.
