Don't forget that Ukraine not only has Stingers and Javelins, but also drones.

Seemingly a number of the drones found their targets yesterday. Could be propaganda, but seems reasonable.

The Afghans' religious views may have given them some extra motivation but they also had some pretty good training and weapons. That they knew the land and the Russians didn't was a big advantage.

You do have to give the credit for staying. I can't imagine a US POTUS staying in harms way.

Russia claims it has captured airport outside Kyiv
Russia’s military has said it has blocked Kyiv from the western side and captured the strategic Hostomel airport outside the capital, news agency Interfax reports.
Russian defence ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov also said more than 200 people from Ukrainian special units had been killed.
The Russian claims have not been independently verified.
As Associated Press reports, the airport has a long runway allowing the landing of heavy-lift transport planes, which means Russia could airlift troops directly to Kyiv’s outskirts. Hostomel is just 7 km (4 miles) northwest of the city.
Ukrainian military vehicles were reported to be entering Kyiv to defend the capital, according to TV news cited by Reuters.

WHOLE lot of BS right there. Not saying you, Monty, but the guy posting that is spreading propaganda. I know its a "real" journalist but he put those out there without any indication where those numbers are coming from (and I suspect whatever bunker Ukrainian comms are hiding). I note that no one else believes him either. its not that it couldnt be true - its that no way in hell Ukraine could have anything close to that accurate account if they are also getting their asses kicked - which everyone also agrees on.
