War in Ukraine

Ukrainian officials are saying Friday will be the worst day so far. Expecting heavy Russians pushes.

There’s absolutely nothing we can do to stop it. We need to make “peace”with Russia. We can’t deal with them and China all at once
And yes we can deal with them and China at the same time. Containing them does not necessarily mean war. We have allies too.

Everyone who has ever been an adversary or ever gotten into a conflict with the United States, especially since the United States became a prominent player on the world stage, has thought those things. It didn't work out too great for most them.
Times are different now. This country is as divided as its ever been, our leadership is as awful as its ever been as well.

That's been said by everybody since time immemorial. I suppose it's a matter of opinion, but I don't think so. In the 60s, we had a protest movement that makes BLM look like the Girl Scouts, an incredibly unpopular war we were bogged down in that ultimately killed 60,000 troops, and a President, Presidential candidate, and prominent civil rights leader assassinated. That was way worse, and it isn't even close. And remember, all that happened at the height of the Cold War. Every generation thinks they are the one who will send the country to hell.

Adversaries have thought those things about the United States for decades - it's soft, decadent, distracted, the openness of our society leads to divisions that weaken it from within, etc. I know that's a popular belief in this thread because it dovetails nicely into everybody's distaste (including mine) for wokeism.

You know which country has a ton of internal problems under the surface? China.

Seems if that is the case he would have been more useful WHILE he was POTUS.
Show me Trump's statement where he has unequivocal denounced the invasion. I must have missed it. You know with the same energy he has gone after TV programs he didn't like. Maybe a cute nickname mixed in.

BLM is just Black Panther poser/wannabes.

I get it..lots of all manners of discourse. They were just the Mouse that roared like a lion. The mouse yesterday is the lion today. Today is much worse with national policy set around this rebellion including defunding the police, corporate support of the rebellion, our economic system, public persona who raged against the machine, yet today support it, or whatever.
