War in Ukraine

This is going to end soon. Ukraine is just way too outmatched. Putin will probably end up taking more of the countries, former republics, that aren't in NATO.

This will keep him busy and in power for the next decade+, which is really all he's worried about. He doesn't care about the longevity of Russia, or what this means for their present/future. He cares about himself, like all corrupt men in power throughout history. He'll continue living like a king, which is all he's worried about, and this will keep him busy and important until he's old/dead.

And now some of these democrats, like the governor of Nevada, are trying to shift gears and runs as "moderates". As if we are supposed to forget the totalitarian measures they have been pushing since the "pandemic" began and all this woke nonsense they have been going on about since 2016.
The old guard democrat is gone. Either conform to collect paychecks, not run for reelection or call yourself a “moderate” as a form of public apology.

So do you think Putin is after more than just the Ukraine? Like the Baltic states, for example? That would actually spark a third world war
Incrementally, yes. I do believe that is his objective based on some of his justification for invasion.

Unfortunately he has decided to create hostilities that will most likely result in military conflict between us, whether that is sooner or later is yet to be determined.

Bulls****. Nothing Trump did strengthened NATO. He committed to reducing the number of US troops in Europe by 10s of thousands, especially in Germany. He did ask that European nations invest more money in there defense. But any way you cut it Putin was a fan of Trump's NATO policies.

Did you mean to respond to me with this comment? This is way off topic from my post.

Can’t do much of anything without air power and owning the skies.

Fox is reporting on the fight at the airport that’s in back in Ukrainian hands so I don’t know. Either way I don’t think they could land more troops there if it’s under attack.

In conventional warfare, air superiority is everything. It’s why I think if God forbid Russia and the US come to blows, the US could destroy them.
Not could. Would.

Unfortunately we didn't take protecting our information seriously and our enemies have a ton of intel from our DOD, either through direct infiltration or indirect (contractors). China, for instance, has shrunk our military advantage by stealing plans for jets like our F-35 to make their own versions. They are so accurate to our build that they even have the exact same faults.

If we don't start protecting our information we will continue to lose that advantage, and give away trillions of research to those that would seek to do us harm.

Their air power is insignificant compared to the US and their armor is underwhelming to say the least. The T-72 is a good tank for when it was built but the US tore through the T-72 in Iraq (twice) like it was a WW1 era tank. I realize it has been upgraded but it would get shellacked by the M1A2, just an observation on my part nothing more. Ukraine will have to fight a guerilla war which is what this was always going to have to be, and they will.

I'm not sure what malinformed is? As for a caricature--I haven't posted here in a while--don't think it makes a difference it won't change anyone's mind-- but I remember you in particular, excusing and twisting everything Trump. To quote: "whatever the clumsy public diplomacy of his remarks" -- in other words, Trump doesn't know how to speak correctly but he's so brilliant, right? Just playing that 3D chess. So brilliant that a KGB guy like Putin didn't know that all you have to do is compliment him and he'd be humping his leg? Even ole senile Biden knew to compliment Trump on the vaccines, knowing he'd lick it up and perhaps his followers might listen to him. As for all that stuff you posted-- there is plenty out there that show that Trump was soft on Russia, no twists and turns getting your body out of joint trying to explain it. You also might want to read Julia Davis on twitter, who translates Russian state news. According to translation, Fox News Tucker and Trump are superstars for Putin propaganda. They even spoke of the 4 year reprieve they had with Trump. I'm just malinformed, though. Whatever.

It's my word and I'm tickled to be remembered.

And speaking of "twisting everything" you're off to another rough start; I have never implied Trump to be brilliant. He's savvy and reads people well. Perhaps you have me mixed up with someone else. Which means I'm not memorable...damn....

Here's a piece from Brookings, the group whose found themselves centerstage in the Durham investigation of late. I think we can agree they're hardly Trumpists or Russian leg-humpers.

"The Trump administration’s policy actions often seemed at odds with the President’s rhetoric. To set the record on policy actions, rather than rhetoric, Alina Polyakova and Filippos Letsas tracked the administration’s concrete actions on Russia from 2017 to 2019. On the record: The U.S. administration’s actions on Russia

There's thirteen pages, read to your heart's content then you'll understand why people like you come across as rather ignorant of fact because you cater to your bias. For some reason they miss the Syrian actions where Trump enforced Obama's "red line" for the chemical attacks, and the missile sales to Poland that Obama reneged on. And Trump's insistence that German/EU dependence on Nord Stream Russian fuel strengthens Russia and weakens Western security. Here's another useful link that fills in some holes. https://consortiumnews.com/2019/11/19/25-times-trump-has-been-dangerously-hawkish-on-russia/ You might pay close attention to statement mirroring Brookings:

"CNN’s 25 items are made up almost entirely of narrative and words; Trump said a nice thing about Putin, Trump said offending things to NATO allies, Trump thought about visiting Putin in Russia, etc. In contrast, the 25 items which I am about to list do not consist of narrative at all, but rather the actual movement of actual concrete objects which can easily lead to an altercation from which there may be no re-emerging. These items show that when you ignore the words and narrative spin and look at what this administration has actually been doing...." Warning: you'll be disappointed here, too, that he's not a Trumpist or Russian leg-humper.

So, you have to reconcile "there is plenty out there" showing Trump was soft on Russia with his actions that -again - no president since Reagan has even contemplated. Certainly not Obama or Biden. Maybe you're just behind the curve and unaware instead of willfully furthering propaganda; if so, I apologize.

Hell we just leave millions in military equipment for anyone to have under this admin.
