War in Ukraine

That's not a transcript then...

One more time, here is the video I posted earlier.

From about 1:11 to 1;29 an audio recording of Trump can be heard.

You want to bitch about cutting words but your dumb clip only plays the bold part of this full transcript:

This is genius.” Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine. Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful.

So, Putin is now saying, “It’s independent,” a large section of Ukraine. I said, “How smart is that?” And he’s gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That’s strongest peace force… We could use that on our southern border. That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen. There were more army tanks than I’ve ever seen. They’re gonna keep peace all right. No, but think of it. Here’s a guy who’s very savvy… I know him very well. Very, very well.

By the way, this never would have happened with us. Had I been in office, not even thinkable. This would never have happened. But here’s a guy that says, you know, “I’m gonna declare a big portion of Ukraine independent,” he used the word “independent,” “and we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.” You gotta say that’s pretty savvy. And you know what the response was from Biden? There was no response. They didn’t have one for that. No, it’s very sad. Very sad."

You are the most disingenuous person on this board.

Videos emerging of Russian tanks rolling over traffic on the streets. Civilians fleeing as they are being crushed. This will get ugly.

Is that it? I thought surely this time, Bowl and media have him (and Pompeo) dead to rights, endorsing Putin.

I wouldn't call it genius, but it's damned more intelligent than saying I was this region so I'm taking it. Use the Crimea blueprint of alleging people declaring independence to become Russians, then moving to uphold their struggle for liberty. The West has used it so often our only defense is to yell "LIes!".

Your party is literally attempting to erase this constitutional republic, and THIS shite is what you find time for.
It is strange to hear a former American President praise Putin that way, following an act of Russian military aggression. It was also strange for Trump to side with Putin's denial of Russian culpability in the massive cyber attack against American businesses in December of 2020, which was done over the conclusion reached by his own Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. There is a pattern here. Trump is sympathetic to Russian aggression. He proves it all the time.

A better comparison would be choosing between Joe Milton or Jarrett Guarantano to lead you to the national title. Sure you can choose one but are you really going very far?

You keep thinking that and stand firm by all means.

It is a Belarusian news network reporting that this is an antiwar rally. Similar ones are popping up in Moscow.

That's good news. I hope there's a groundswell of domestic opposition to this war that will force Putin to stand down. I wouldn't venture even to guess a figure, but the number of Russians with family in Ukraine can't be small.

Says the person who posted an article which conveniently omitted the most damning parts.

One would hope, but I'm not buying that he is willing to negotiate peace in good faith. I believe regime change in Ukraine is the goal here, jmo.

I think he would care more about the oligarchs bucking against him.
Agreed. If he's negotiating now it's only bc the Oligarchs have banned together. I applaud the citizens for protesting. Huge balls. But it's too little too early to force his hand through citizen uprising

Army units deploying out of the US out that way too.
82nd Airborne are already out there. Blackhawks have also been flying around the border and turn off their transponders. There's already an evacuation plan to evacuate the government out if the need unfortunately arises.

Maybe why Putin was so quick to offer surrender terms?

I’d venture to say that it’s because most all Ukrainian air defense systems have been knocked out and Russia controls the airport 15km from Kiev, amongst others....there is no reason to delay the inevitable.

Imagine getting butthurt about jokes about the president. Were you in a coma for the last five years?

Situation is a bit different. I think you'd have to admit. Of course, if Trump was President he'd be telling us that Putin denied very forcefully having attacked Ukraine and that he believes him. And that he doesn't understand why it would be Russia. Or, oops, I mean wouldn't be Russia. And that we should stay at Trump hotels.

Always lots of “ifs” and conjecture with you
