I agree - and when I say diversity it is more encompassing then skin color and sexual orientation; it should include diversity of background, socio-economic status, geography, etc.. Hiring like-minded and similar people to ones-self because it is comfortable can be just as detrimental. It should be merit-based and best qualified.
