In all seriousness I am skeptical the economic sanctions will have any significant consequence on Putin and the people in his elite circles. VP & his goons will find a way to funnel money in and out of their country. Hopefully the sanctions have some impact.

Trump shouldn't have said that simply because he's the former POTUS, but if you look at this strategically, he's not wrong. Putin's strategy seems to be sound. And before you start calling me a Putin fan boy, I think it'd be great if the Ukraine forces were able to repel any invasion.

Who keeps telling everyone that these sanctions don't or won't have an effect? Hannity? Carlson?

The severity of the sanctions will be determined by the Russian people and their willingness to tolerate them, Putin doesn't care and you can bet he factored all of this into his plan.

Politically, the United States, Canada, and the U.K. are all pretty much in chaos with people at each other's throats. The timing is perfect for countries like Russia and China to do whatever the hell they want with little fear of consequence.

I disagree about the sanctions, they will hurt. Don't conflate the pain of the sanctions with a black and white outcome.
