I have full confidence in the fighting men and women of this country. I have zero confidence in the men and women leading them, especially the President. He is still trying to figure how to get our ports operating at a elementary school level but I have full confidence he will be able to tow the delicate line between WW3 and solving a major political issue for Eastern Europe in between his trips to the ice cream shop.

He already effectively did this with South Ossetia in 2008 and effectively already annexed LPR/DPR in 2014.

Given the build-up he's done, this is like the bare minimum he had to do to maintain any sort of credibility (consolidate control over areas he effectively already controlled). I don't see it as a game-changer. A game-changer would be a full-blown invasion of the rest of Ukraine and an overthrow of their government.

And despite all of those actions Europe overall still keeps doing business with them.
