War in Ukraine

I'm not saying applaud it. I'm saying tell the Europeans to handle the issue. If they won't, let it be a lesson to them. The fall of Ukraine will have limited impact on the United States. Sending weapons to them, especially when the Russians are way more geared up for a conventional combat situation/invasion and their stuff counters ours very well, is a waste of money.
You can't say that.

You're advocating throwing money down the toilet for a government many of you have said is corrupt so we can show Russia we mean business. It's idiotic.
You hit another point. Many in here are saying that since Biden is weak, that Russia sees an opportunity to act. I guess my question is, what would a strong leader be doing right now? I've never gotten an answer to that question.

Putin has ordered Russian troops to invade Ukraine, U.S. intelligence reveals: Secretary of State Antony Blinken insist Putin's threat to Ukraine is 'deadly serious'

U.S. intelligence reveals Russian President Vladimir Putin has already given his troops orders to proceed with an invasion into Ukraine, according to a new Sunday report.

'The intelligence says that Russian troops have actually received orders now to proceed with the invasion,' CBS News' David Martin told Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan.

I guess a "strong leader" would be nuking Moscow right now.

Regarding weapons, the US can hardly keep it's refueling planes in the air, the Marines have virtually zero tank units, anti-air radar used by the Army is four decades old with no field ready replacement in sight, and we all know about the F-35 disaster. Life is not a movie. The US can lose a conventional war. Especially when we've built a military aimed at fighting goatherds with only small arms.

France shouldn’t be sending warships to the Russians because France won’t be fighting against it if/when Russia decides to rattle its saber.
Who is going to be fighting them then? They're a NATO member, right? I thought we were all in this together? Article 5?

I don’t support war with the Russians but I also don’t know that they are trustworthy, maybe they are? If there is any semblance of Stalinism left in the Russian government then they don’t deserve anyone’s trust.
Yeah, yet we arm and support Saudi Arabia.

I hope for the sake of the Russian people that is not the case but a former member of the KGB running their government is hard to ignore. KGB members were Naziesque in their support of the party; party first.
We had a former CIA Director as president.

Here we go... chemical weapons and Nigerien yellow cake all over again.

Here we go... chemical weapons and Nigerien yellow cake all over again.

A synopsis by Ras:

1. Russia does not want to invade Ukraine.
2. Will only do so in self defense after being provoked.
3. Afterwards they will allow a referendum on Ukraine becoming part of Russia. A referendum that will pass by 90%.
4. Russia will accept their plea and take on this impoverished farm country even though it will be a net negative economic impact to Russia.

That has nothing to do with my statement.
It absolutely does. Many countries around the world view us as the bullies. In many cases, that's fair. Hell, our biggest arms importer is Saudi Arabia- definitely not a bully at all, those guys.

You're taking your extremely limited worldview and rah rah rah'ing for conflict with a country we have no business being involved with because you, out of one side of your mouth, claim the US is the moral standard for everyone while out of the other blast the American government, of which the military is a part. It's inconsistent.

I’ll give you know inconsistent, given your attempt to compare our treatment of prisoners as equal to what China does.

Most Americans, yourself included don’t understand the difference between forced labor camps and prison work details. A forced labor camp like those in China, Russia, and Nazi Germany worked individuals in horrendous conditions leading to the deaths of thousands if not millions over the decades. How many prisoners in American prisons have died do to enforced working conditions over the last five decades? I would venture to guess fewer than 1k. I just looked it up, the prison mortality rate for state prisons in 2018 was 319 per 100k which was lower than the national average. So, let’s drop this ridiculous notion that Angola state prison is no different than Chinese or Russian gulags. It’s a ridiculous argument to justify our overlooking their pathetic human rights record

Sounds like the Hispanics working for landscapers here in the US.

And the allvol solution, concisely summed up:
Let's push the two nations with the militaries that pose the largest conventional threat to America closer together over a poor Eastern European country that we don't do much with anyway.

We’re pushing them together. Lol.

Did I say they were equal? I asked a question centered around your absolute claim that the US had "no" labor camps. You were wrong.

You claim to be for the little guy against the bullies, yet support arming the Saudis, yes?
