Excerpts from the Cover 3 Podcast where they had Bill Connelly on to review his SP+ rankings. If you remember, he put us at #9.

Chip Patterson

Bill

Sometimes I wish these guys would just not put us in their top 10 or top 25 if they really didn't believe that we were top 10 or top 25. Just come out and say you ranked us high because it drives clicks and visibility.

Either way, I can't wait to come out and pick up where we left off next year, shifting into a higher gear.
To be fair to Bill "The Goat" Connelly and his SP+, it's purely data driven. I'm not aware of any way to have it be biased without changing the whole model.

I also find Bill typically favorable towards us.

Not sure why the On3 guy is chuckling so much. Though it's hard to ignore how utterly absurd our history has been for 10+ years. I mean, just ask anyone who had the most absurd games last year and everyone would say us. At this point our name just exudes comic absurdity.

I’m with you. They say we are top 10 but then drop us 15 spots when we lose to the number 1 and 2 teams in the country. UTSA will have. 10-1 record against trash teams and be top 10 in their final ranking.
That's the difference between statistical and power rankings (trying to emulate how Vegas would make a spread) and the stupid AP/coaches rankings based on who "deserves" it. Jmo but it is stupid. Rankings should be who is considered the BEST. Aka who would win on a neutral field.

Otherwise you have stupid things like #24 UT being 9 pt favorites over #12 Northwestern 🙄

I believe Auburn would have fired him for cause, in a heart beat, if they found a smokin' gun. They would have saved $20M and started all over again.

I guess I don’t understand why Auburn WANTS to fire him? Maybe he’s a sleeze, maybe not, but the guy hasn’t been there that long. And he’s got a decent track record. What do they see as to look for moral decay reasons to fire him? Don’t they trust him to build a staff. He made a great decision to bring Mason in. He can make another good decision, no? I guess Mason leaving and the transfer portal exodus says more beneath the surface than we know.

If it was rampant why were 50 home runs a rare event? And the most productive portion of Mays, Aaron and Mantle’s careers were in the 50’s…but Tom House said…😏
That’s not how steroids work…… you may gain Some muscle/strength but you want get major gains without the strength training to back it up….. Strength training today is much more advanced than back when those guys played….Performance enhancing drugs have been around since the beginning…. The first case happened in the 1800’s when a pitcher took testosterone from animal’s testicles….There is a documented case where Babe Ruth shot himself up with testosterone from a sheep testicle which ended up just making him sick…. The New York Times reported that during the 1961 homerun chase that Mickey Mantle went to a doctor that Gave him a cocktail of amphetamines, steriods, and other drugs that supposedly led to his fade down the stretch. That’s just a few of the stories that we have heard about.

Too many unhappy boosters want him out because the place seems to be falling apart. When boosters ain't happy, money becomes a bigger problem.

Not wrong about Bailey.

Regardless Worley won that award while a SR in high school and Patterson was already in JUCO....
He had nothing to do with thr 5,000 yards he put up that year

Don’t know if you are right about Bailey. Look at Keaton and Gilbert. Neither are very good at the collegiate level. So was it Baileys stud receiving corps making him look great? Or did Bailey make them look great? It’s a mixture of both.

For BARRY BONDS how it "worked" was his head doubled in size and his homeruns escalated at an age players with normal sized heads (like Ken Griffey Jr) regressed. Link these "reports" or I'm predisposed to think you're being sketchy...something I've never accused you of being. Yes include the DOCUMENTATION of Babe Ruth shooting himself up with bullspooge. Til then you're full of bull****.

Man, the job market is absolutely wild right now.

At a couple points in the past I've looked at upgrading my career via job change, but with only marginal results, especially being in such a small, yet extremely competitive market such as Asheville. And yet I'm currently gaining 1-2 offers a week, with my pick of the litter. I'd say I've heard back from 80% of my applications, to where before it was more like 10-20%.

Now is definitely the time to shoot for the stars if you're yearning to make an jump in your career and need/want to go outside your current company in order to do so.

fwiw.

I got it today. First one I got right.
Genius level.

While I've never traveled to that region of the world, I thought I had a decent grasp of it. When the answer popped up, I could have sworn that country was in a different part of the world 😂

What a noob.

There have been several stories written about it but I couldn’t find any that you may find as legit sources…. I did, however, find a New York post article talking about it that you may find legit. Why Bonds and Clemens deserve to be in the Hall of Fame

Hey who knows this staff might make Ramel Keyton do a Cedric Tillman next year

Half of their boosters didn’t want him when the President and AD hired him because he came from Boise, ID. In other words, he ain’t like them.

Tried to do something that cost him 41 games vs injected himself successfully and doubled his power numbers at an age you’d normally decline. Failed to change my opinion. Good info tho.
