The Atlanta Braves

I agree, but I can't imagine that they're going to just eat that contract unless the public backlash is just crazy. The one thing that makes me slightly think that Eddie and Soler can both come back is that there's slight uncertainty about when RAJ is going to get cleared and what his workload will be early on. Doubt they'll spend that much . . . unless they don't break the bank at 1B.

Right but let’s say they bring back just Rosario and keep Ozuna. You can roll with Rosario/Pache/Duvall with Ozuna at DH until Ronnie is back. They aren’t gonna do anything though until they get first base resolved. And that is either gonna cost money or prospects so we will have to see.

That scenario would seem to make the most sense. I have a feeling that Soler is going to be expensive, but free agency is going to be such a frenzy once the CBA is settled, who knows what the market is going to be like?

Soler might look for a one year deal to rebuild his value. I think Rosario would get anywhere from $30M-$45M

Oh Rob Manfred you silly goose

This is even funnier when you consider Liberty Media only got the Braves because they wanted a massive tax break and planned to sell them after the 10 year window but then kept them because it’s such an easy money maker.

Gotta solve the Freddie/Olson thing at first base. Otherwise we’re discussing what amounts to bit players.

True, not gonna matter if we don’t have a lefty bopper in the middle of the lineup (I’d also be down for Jose Ramirez at third and Austin at first if we lose Freddie and can’t get Olsen).

Hadn’t thought about the Ramirez idea but I’d love that too
