Been there many times….would love to play it, but not in my top 5 “bucket list”
Wow, that is not the answer I would expect, it would be Augusta all day every day for me and literally every other golfer I have ever talked to..lol.

I would love just to be able to walk around...

Playing those courses are on my golf bucket list but the most beautiful golf property I've ever seen is Augusta. It's in an average part of town but when you walk through the gate to the course, it's like heaven on earth. Never seen anything quite like Augusta anywhere.
I can imagine, and I agree that I would say the same thing if I ever get to go there, but I have not seen it.

I imagine walking in Augusta, especially in the spring, has to feel like walking in Heavens golf course.

Had the privilege of going in like 1994 or so...Bought a heavy duty white tee with the logo on it. Should of loaded up, One thing is the concessions are very reasonably priced..at least back then,

RE Jimbo - I really don't understand why this is getting under his skin. NIL is legal. Makes me think that he knows full well that his program (along with a lot of other Texas schools) bent the rules to a breaking point and he doesn't want the attention because attention could turn into discovering things that aren't above board.

i think they gave money out too early and didn’t follow the proper protocols of the new rules (i.e incentivizing kids to come with promised deals… see his comments after ESD) and now he’s been told he needs to pull back some because they may have gotten out over their skis a little bit

I have played Pebble Beach, Spyglass, and Spanish Bay. My best 4 hole stretch ever was at Pebble with birdie, birdie, par, par. Of course I started with a triple, double bogey, then bogey. 😳When I hit the good holes, the caddie said here we go! And I just started laughing. I shot a 42 on the front 9 snd a 50 on the back 9. On the 18th hole I pulled the hell out of my drive. It was headed to the Pacific. The ocean swell went down and my ball hit an exposed rock face then bounced to the middle of the fairway 😂. Only par I had on the back 9.

My son was 4 when I played Pebble. I brought him a hat. He asked me to take him to play Pebble Beach. I said that I would when he became a teenager. He didn’t say anything about it afterwards. As his 13th birthday approached, I asked him if he wanted to do anything in particular? His response: When are we playing Pebble Beach? 😳 He and I played Spyglass and Spanish Bay but couldn’t get on Pebble yet 😐 You have to stay on property to get guaranteed tee times at Pebble…
That whole coast drive up from Ventura to Monterey was just...🤯...there are no words that I can say that really do it justice.

Now that is a Rocky Top bounce!

I'm all for PWO. This reminds me of the 70s when Nebraska had like 100+ players every year

So back then, each county in Nebraska sponsored a football player. They were PWOs, but received a fully funded college education. If the player went on scholarship or quit the team, then the county sponsored a new player. (No one ever quit.) Think of the psycho 12th man player at aTm, but multiplied x93 counties. They could then cherry pick the scholarship players. Imagine how hard the PWOs would work! Back then Nebraska had one of the best strength and conditioning programs. After Nebraska manhandled Tennessee, Fulmer sent the staff to Nebraska to cooy their program.

It must have been a high honor to go to Nebraska on that program. Crazy

The place is beautiful and filled with tradition when you walk the grounds. Early in the morning…..I swear you can see and hear the ghosts of the past. Can’t wait to go back in April

They still are and I doubt they'll ever change. It does cost a small fortune to buy a day pass unless you get lucky and sign up for their lottery and get selected :):)
