Years ago I was forced to take a course on managing problems/disagreements in the workforce. Didn't get much out of it, but there actually was one bit of inspiration for really tough times. The guy running the class said just remember that when you have that boss somewhere up the ladder - the one you can't work with and you have no way of getting rid of - to always remember "where there's death, there's hope." This sounds like a variant on that theme. I wish the guy all the best, but just stay away from congress.
