Surely auburn fans are freaking out, right?

Yep it’s bad. Media turning in Harsin too this morning. 247 just blasted him saying they have covered multiple staffs at Auburn back before tuberville and this is the worst access and ability to get info ever. They said they have no idea what or why things are going on and Harsin is making it that way. Doesn’t all assistants to talk to local media covering team. Gives no access

For those that had given well wishes or thoughts and prayers for my aunt's battle with Covid, very appreciated but unfortunately, at much too young, she passed on last night. The resulting complications just multiplied to more than she could handle.

I would request those uplifting thoughts/prayers be passed along to her husband, kids, my mother and her other surviving siblings.
Thx in advance and always remember to take the opportunity to tell those you love, how you feel.
Sorry, Charger. May you feel the same warmth that I felt knowing so many of my Volnation family members were in my corner. Prayers for peace for your family.

Sorry for your loss.

I brought Pearce up...think about it...think about it..

I never said Verse was worthless, I did imply that a bunch of guys losing their f'n 💩 over him was ridiculous.

I don't know what the staff thinks...just trying to understand. It is fairly obvious to me that they highly valued West and Pearce and were willing to go high on them to land them...Verse maybe not so much.

I don't know about Baron, I see flashes from him, but I don't know why they valued him that much other than it was late and they didn't want to lose him at that point.

Trying to understand all this gives me a headache.
I know they valued Verse enough to pursue him, even after landing Pearce. I know they valued him enough to offer him a scholarship when they only have one or two to offer. I don't really believe the coaches had much to do with any money offered. I do know they thought Verse would improve this team.

I'm not losing my **** over missing him, but I was disappointed we didn't get him.

I wonder what Barons stats would have looked like playing an FCS schedule….. that’s not saying verse isn’t going to be good though.
Who knows, but I do know the staff wanted Verse. People keep ignoring that fact. It doesn't matter what he was rated. It matters that this staff wanted him. Misses are part of recruiting, so I agree we need to move one, but it's silly to say "trust the coaches" then turn around and poo-poo a player they valued. We know we have one, maybe two open schollies atm, and he was the first guy they went after. That means something IMO.

Charger, you've been through a lot. May the Lord and Savior show you peace.

Prayers for your family.

The first guy we went after was Mincey who we got….. does that make him a stud? No it does not…..Verse has potential and they definitely wanted him…. Do they view him as a stud or a potential depth piece…. The overreaction to transfers is ridiculous…. Most of them don’t produce at a high level…. Hopefully our coaches are good evaluators and can find a few that can produce in the 2-3 deep on the depth chart.

We're going to survive and thrive. Misses are part of the process. But none of that changes that the staff wanted Verse. I trust their evaluation.

Reminds me of a certain follically challenged UT coach.

People are going to have to get over the concept of a player being (or not being) "worth" a certain amount. Here's a name you shameless Braves fans (shameless because you share a fandom with others who are mostly UGA fans) will recognize: Mike Foltynewicz

He made $2M this past year and was ranked as one of the 5 worst starting pitchers in MLB. Was he worth that money? Of course not...but that's not how it works.

And, like it or not, that's what it's going to be like for college athletes (mostly BB and FB) now. So, if Baron can convince someone he should get $300k for the use of his NIL and he gets it, good for him I guess.

So come Spring, when we can take transfers, we can't take any SEC guys unless they enter the portal by tomorrow. That really sucks.
