Lots of things resulted in a poor performance today and potentially cost us the win. And none of those things was JJJ (he really didn't commit a foul at the end, I think it was a make-up call).
Texas's game plan was clearly to shut down Vescovi. And they did that very well. He couldn't get anything going, and missed really the only open look he had all night at the end.
We were fairing well in the first half without Vescovi being effective - because our bigs were getting rebounds and scoring. ONk disappeared in the second half. He would also put himself in great position to score but would finish poorly at the rim.
Fulky... I have no idea what is going on with him. He's not been the inside presence this team desperately needs. He hasn't been right since having Covid, and now I'm beginning to wonder if he's burning out at this point. I hope he's got another wind in him to emerge at the right time for the postseason. As with many games this season... had we had a consistent presence in the paint I think we'd have had a different scoreline.
