I thought Rush was a con-man too years ago because of stuff said by the left. As I matured and actually listened to his show, I realized they lied about him and they were scared of him because he called them out on their BS.

I detest any and all things partisan from both sides and I genuinely find his podcast entertaining and informative. He’s had all sorts of guests on ranging from Mike Tyson to Astrophysicists. I just don’t get the hate he is receiving, all he is stating with respect to COVID is his experience and what did and didn’t work. That’s it.

If there ever was a time where it is clear the government wants to shut down certain point of views, this it exhibit A.

I went back to normal months ago. Much has changed in the approach over the past year.

We as a collective aren't though. We are mandating vaccines that only work to protect the individual. We are demonizing people who don't want to wear masks. None of this is normal. I can give the initial response a pass and say we were acting out of abundance of caution. But we're past that now, in many instances what we are doing isn't really about safety, it's about saving face.

I really feel like this is what’s going on now. In any other context it just doesn’t make sense what’s going on.

I have to vent for a second here. I have never posted about covid on here, because I try to just not involve myself in the conversation. But there comes a point where this is just too much. I am so depressed honestly. I had the first two vaccines. Got sick with “something” a few weeks ago. Rapid tests are hit and miss. I had a fever, chills, body aches, sore throat, cough. Negative for everything under the sun. I know people that have had FOUR vaccines in a 1.5 year period. FOUR. That is ridiculous. And current articles I am reading are saying every three months your immune system will need a boost, if it even develops any immunity naturally from getting sick. So directly after getting sick you should get another booster anyway. Are we seriously on a path for them to ask people to just get a quarterly booster multiple times a year? This is getting to be such nonsense.

We're heading toward everyone walking around with a covid vaccine IV bottle.

If anyone was ever unsure of if you were a phony or not this just mailed it in. Seeing as one of his highest viewed episodes was with Bernie 2 years ago, I'd say his audience is pretty diverse politically.

As I said, I was speaking without knowing anything about him.
I love the fact that he has a variety of guests and intelligently discusses all sides of an issue.
Lord knows we need more of that.

Just a few comments from the first couple of pages of this thread.
You need to remember the level of "unknown" that surrounded all of this.
Thankfully, the worst case scenarios never materialized, but had they, I don't believe anyone would be moaning about overreaction but you would be bitching about not doing enough.

So scientific opinion can change based on new facts but not peoples opinion? Interesting take. I was dead wrong early on during this pandemic. Have admitted as much many times. The biggest take away I have had is how much I under estimated governments ability to screw things up.

Don’t disagree, the vocabulary and pet names for people can be a turnoff. His larger points, when he chose to be eloquent about it were most often very much on target and correct.

I can easily understand that point of view. The politicization of COVID form both sides has been shameful.
I have been on the side of moving back to normal as quickly as possible all along. I have lived my life that way over the past couple of years. I have been relatively pleased with GA's response - I think they hit the middle ground pretty well.
It was inevitable that some would want to take more aggressive actions than others.
I never really minded wearing a mask when it was required and never wore a mask when it was not. I'm going to a function over the weekend where masks are required. I think it is silly and unneeded, but I would rather comply than not go.
The vaccine issue became absurd. If there ever was a global pandemic that realistically threatened to wipe out 50% of humanity, I would support mandatory vaccines.

The problem is the refusal to admit policies haven't worked and move on from them. See lockdowns and vaccine mandates. I could go on and on.

And if that pandemic ever did come to pass this idiocy works ensure at least half would balk at that mandate because we cried wolf and then continued to once the flaws in the need for the mandate were obvious.

There's been a true lack of leadership in this pandemic, Fauci has proven himself a stooge and he should be removed immediately. We need sound thoughtful science based leadership on the subject.

I don’t think people are ignoring the context of prevailing opinions at the time, they’re just realizing that the information we have NOW has shown many of those opinions to be incorrect and are rightfully questioning why we are continuing down a path that is proving to exacerbate the problem.

He pulled out of their customer trip to Mexico in a few weeks, despite having 4 shots! I told him at this rate I’ll be at the resort by myself the way everyone is pulling out.
