Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I am so ****ing over this. I can't stand wearing these face diapers anymore and I can't wait to be able to roam around my building without one. The masks combined with the cold weather are killing my asthma, my face is so large that I just end up eating the bottom of the mask. And I'm slowly losing my hearing, so a good quarter of what I say to my students is "Can you repeat that louder?" because they sound like they're talking into a towel.

Damn things don't fit anyone anyway

I have to add, I am finding it insane some of the things I’m seeing at work. Someone feels like crap and you can very clearly see they are sick and lethargic “you tested negative get to work.” What happened to just being able to be sick? Like all the sudden all the illnesses people had before and were able to take sick days for don’t exist. It’s either covid or you can work.

Remote work has destroyed sick days for some of the people I work adjacent to. Fortunately not for me, but the small company I work for has tried to enforce stricter "hours" in some ways.

Plus they don’t work.

My kid is virtual this week because the school system mandated it. It’s already been tears, frustration, angst, and stress for both of us.

But by all means, let’s continue to torture kids by blanket forcing all of them to do something that is zero threat to them. There is already an option for virtual learning who’s kids/parents want it, so why in the actual F is that not enough?

I’m so over the hysteria and dishonest reporting driving these deranged decisions. The fear monger reporting and press and Fauci and Twitter/TikTok/Facebook Karen’s that is keeping all this going. It’s incredibly frustrating. If people want to involve themselves in idiocy then more power to them. When it sucks others in who want no part it is a huge problem and needs to be called out.

This isn’t about politics, it’s about leaving people alone who want to be left alone. Two years in and everybody should have enough information to make their own informed decision at this point. It should be that simple.

How big a sissy are you?
Beats showing up with a runny nose on my walk to work. But I guess you have a gruelling 20 foot hike from your heated truck cab at your reserved spot to the front door of your heated office. Really showing me how a man roughs it.

I do not have a reserved parking spot thank you.

My comment was more about living in Atlanta, you see below freezing weather for a week or 2 per year on average and then it's only in the mid 20s?

It gets windy amongst the sky scrapers. It's not uncomfortable cold, just cold enough to get my nose leaking.

PREACH!

Agreed 100%, and I take care of kids with CV every day.

I like masks cuz it makes me feel like im robbing a bank
During the Knox Co mandate, I exclusively wore wild west bandanas for that very reason. Keeps people guessing: maybe I just need a couple steaks, potatoes, milk, and a six-pack, . . . Maybe I'm gonna hold the place up!

Ha! Early on, I had to take my son to Wal Mart for fishing lures. While he was shopping, I told the kid working in sporting goods that I needed him to open the ammo case with a gruff voice. Fun checking out with 3 boxes of 12-gauge shells and a family pack of toilet paper looking like Billy the Kid.

That would have been amazing to see. Walk in wearing a bandana and gun and announce “I’m here to make a withdrawal.”
