I believe Texas said they would match whatever we offered and all other things being equal (he liked our offensive staff better, but Texas is home..canceled each other out)...our guys just were not going to get in a bidding war over a #2 WR.
I think the same with Verse.
If/when we get to the place where there are one or two guys that would be the difference in competing for a championship or not...then you will see them go all out scorched earth to make it happen. We are not at that place and neither of those guys were going to be all-SEC.
I know a lot of folks really really valued Verse highly, and I'm not saying I didn't want him to play for us..but I just did not see him as a can't miss/gotta have right now. I think Pearce will do just as well down the road.
swain, and ainge, appear to have mastered the art of shatting the bull.Oh, I agree, I wasn't talking about going scorched earth for anyone or even getting particular players. Both of my points were about Swain's statements of other programs.
I believe he may know a lot about ours but I think he may be just deducing the size of our advantage over many others. Several of the programs in the top 20, suggest they've got more invested than his statement suggests. Especially after he, himself, described how secretive programs keep their NIL info. I believe he's right about that.. which means it's highly unlikely he KNOWS what any advantage may be.
He's not got very good control of his body, and that comes with the territory of being that big. It's harder to move and move fluidly. I think the coaches have done a phenomenal job getting him to perform at the level he has and getting him to be confident on the court.
Guys his size that are able to move like Shaq are rare freaks of nature.
The heads of NASCAR keep listening to the wrong people

Half of the coaches in the league now would have done the same thing, and it’s baffling to me. I don’t care what the numbers say: you’re in the playoffs - take the points!
it started when Kulwicki, et al died.Started over 15 or more years ago. Instead of staying with what was working well they started doing what others were doing. Classic grass is greener stuff.
I stopped following when The Chase started. Could tell where they were headed and well, here they are.
I knew it would happen before it happened. because its happened so many times. Was working yesterday and just finished watching the Titans game. Can't believe they found a way to lose a game where they tied an nfl record with 9 sacks! The OC needs to go. Still amazes me why so often teams go shotgun on 3rd and 2 ft. Get under center and sneak over Saffold or Davis and if you come up inches shot, do it again! As for going for two from the one, I know it ended up biting them in the arse, but I didn't have a problem going for that but poorly executed play. Oh well, at least the bb team whipped LSU and the Preds won to save the day. I will pull for KC or Cincy over anyone left in the NFC.
I followed the sport closely in the 70's and through the 90's. Went to races at Talladega, Atlanta and many at BMS. Wasn't too many years ago that a ticket to BMS, especially for the Sat. night August race was the hottest ticket in sports and there was a long waiting list. When they started building cookie-cutter tracks and took races form Wilksboro, Martinsville, etc, I lost a lot of interest and quit going. Nascar also lost me when they started making all drivers be nice, polite pretty boys instead of gruff, rough characters like Bobby Allison, Dale Earnhardt, Petty, Pearson, Waltrip etc.it started when Kulwicki, et al died.
The car of tommorow killed the sport. Winston was no longer the Cup sponsor bc, well, someone might get hurt by an invisible cigarette. places like wilkesboro have grass growing in the interior, that's where the many got their starts.
Do we really need races in Mexico City? Know where you came from and how you got there.
A lot of teams do it bc extra points are not as automatic any more especially kicking on that field…. The Titans also have the best goal line back in the league…. It just didn’t work out for them.I think Vrabel just got greedy there. I don’t actually know what the “analytics” say on it, but going for it on 4th and goal from the 1 is a much more justified risk than going for 2 from the 1 — the reward is 4 additional points, whereas Vrabel was chasing 1 additional point. Moreover, situationally, I just don’t understand the call at all. You have the chance to take the lead with a PAT, and while you’d rather have a 2-point lead, all else equal, it doesn’t really do that much for you to be up 2 instead of 1.
That being said, the Titans had three crucial plays where they needed one yard and got stuffed with the most dominant back in the game, so it is on execution also.
I've been screaming this for years. Don't stray away from your roots.it started when Kulwicki, et al died.

Well, I was not looking at through the lens of what you said. Read it without considering that. Glass half empty or half full. It’s all about how we look at the situation. I am definitely a glass half full person... and can’t understand why people want to only see what is wrong.
It's time for them to tell us what exactly Pruitt did. I have heard over and over that he got caught red handed but no one is saying what he actually did. There's only so long that we take it on blind faith. Had Pruitt been even slightly more popular, folks would've already demanded answers. I trust that we did the right thing here but I'm also at the point where a tax payer funded institution has to start giving answers beyond 'trust us.'
The OC didn't make tannehill throw ints. Dolphins fans watched that game and had ptsd. Titans roster was good enough to hide it the last two years. He ain't it.Does that change the fact that he was good for the Titans for 2 years? Also liked I've been saying all year this OC is worse than Pruitt running an offense
