@VolsDoc81TX and others.. have inexplicable localized severe pain in my thigh for about 24 hours now. It is ever so slightly warm, no swelling. There was no sort of trauma or injury to the leg when it happened. My wife is convinced I have a blood clot. Should I go to the ER?

I’m no doctor but “warm” makes me think the same as your wife. Better safe than sorry.

I’m not a doctor but go to the ER! I didn’t want to go a few weeks back and my wife made me. Saved my life.

Don’t know what all was said yesterday, but to pass along everything I’ve heard / my guy spoke w JB last night and apparently the big things are 1. Other places paying way more (we knew this) and 2. Some backups are making more than starters. He said he didn’t get much of a reading on which way he will finally decide, but that he and others are telling JB he owes it to Tennessee to stay another year. He’d be in JUCO or have no career if UT didn’t give him a second chance.

Sorry for being a dick but this NIL stuff is rediculous
Ruining college football
Hubbs made strong points on his hour WNML.

*players need to get paid.
*needs to be a central figure in control not named the NCAA.
*NIL, salaries, and money to schools is disjointed. Biggest bully wins. No one likes that.

College football will lose a ton of fans and support when they hit their breaking point. It just isnt fun.

The thing with Banks is it could be his past that's effecting his NIL. People still remember his "they shoot cops where I'm from" comment, even if he did his penance to get back on the team. I can understand why a business would pick another player. But where's Spyre in all of this? Isn't it their place to hook him up?

His actions off the field is what is costing him money. He only has himself to blame.

Hate to say it, but Banks’ history comes into play, too, when he wants to be paid. Kids will have to learn quickly that their conduct (even in high school) means so much more now. If guys got into trouble, they could rehab themselves in college for a couple of years and still get paid in the pros. Now, if they want to be paid immediately, they better behave.
Truth! He was in the dog house for a while with the coaches. Stayed away longer from the team for other things not talked about too. Wonder if this time off has not been good for him. But it’s all speculation and hopefully baseless rumors. One of my favorite players on the team. Brings 100% effort every play. And that’s a lot when your defense is on the field as much as ours.

This is a fact
He needs to shut up and just play for the place that took a second chance on him and is giving him an education

Listen, Jeremy Banks is a solid player, and I’m happy to have him on this team. But, he is NOT a guy we should let hold us hostage over NIL. It’s like negotiating with terrorists. If you give in once, who is to say another player on this roster doesn’t immediately threaten to leave if he doesn’t get a bigger piece of the pie. Where does it end?

I’m definitely in the boat that we need to fix our NIL issues long-term, but I don’t like the idea of letting players put their own team’s feet to the fire.

I think he will get taken care of. No way you let your only linebacker go and not get him a deal.
That all depends on how reasonable he is..these dumbass mercs all think they are worth millions..🤬🤬🤬🤬

Goodbye College Football...it was great while it lasted..🙋‍♂️

SMH...**** him and every other mercenary..I hate this stupid f'n 💩. You happy Devo? and all you other guys that think this dumb 💩 is just such a great thing?

The dude isn't even that good...he screws up all the freaking time..🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Relax. Like all things, this is on a pendulum. It will correct itself or those in charge will correct it. It's just new and crazy right now.

And if he's not that good then why do we care?

Exactly why we need more transparency from Spyre and who is getting paid. Any starters and star players should be making a lot. We should not have a problem getting current players paid through Spyre with as much money as is going in.

This **** is the end of college football..it is a putrid disgusting swamp.

Just got a text from one of my old trainers to not be surprised if there’s mumbling about another defensive starter considering a transfer due to NIL issues in the coming days. Could be fixed internally before it goes public, but get your cups out just in case. Tennessee is gonna have to do a better job with this stuff starting yesterday.

Going to be interesting to see how long before a player at school A makes the NIL noise and implicates school B staff and administration in illegally brokering a deal between the player and the NIL offering entity. Lots of slippery slope potential with this stuff.

It is changing the game for sure. But the big Universities should be able to thrive in it because they have the money too. But will some big Universities step up? Are they willing to invest in winning? It will be interesting to see how the next few years change the college landscape.

We are in on some serious talent in 2023 so I wonder if we finally have a plan in place going forward and our players/recruits will start reaping those benefits. I think our biggest issue is starting slow and following the “right way” initiative in regards to NiL. But they may have it figured out now and we will start to see the benefits of NIL going forward.

I say let him take his chance in the portal...

I've been lurking lately. It has the feel of being in the FF. lol May I suggest that next time we are on a recruit don't get your hopes up so much. I trust the coaches. They didn't get to this level by not knowing what they need and who they want to go after. I my opinion, I still feel we need another good season before some of these recruits we have lost will start turning more in our favor. I just hate to see people at each others throats when we really don't know what is going on inside the administration. Its like we have forgotten that just a year ago we were position to both coaches and recruits. I think Coach hype did a great job on the recruiting class and I have confidence that he will fill positions of need the best he can. There are a few in here that post the same crap day after day about the staff not doing their job when they don't have a clue what is going on behind the scenes. CJH could have been told he can only take this class and get the dang penalty over with. I hope we can get less sensitive and personal and let's go back to having fun. Feel like I been in here long enough to stay all this. LOL Here's for a more fun RF!! Let's be more patient and let the coaches do the job we heired them to do. GBO!!

I actually enjoyed the past (pre-internet) when I bought the Tennessee Volunteers Football Guide to read about all the incoming Freshmen. Didn’t know or care about any of the pre-signing day drama. Those were the days. By kickoff, I had memorized every player’s height, weight, hometown, etc. That was in med school, residency, and until kids…😊

I used to read the recruit threads but it became dramaville so I stopped. The RF is my safe place. Of course, I have a very strong ignore list, so that definitely helps…

You can blame the ole 'AA and these Universities. They should have figured out a better way to compensate these athletes a long time ago. Instead they kept the status quo and continued to fatten their wallets on the backs of 19 and 20 year olds.

If he does leave, we'll have to get some LBs from the portal. There's no arguing he was our best LB this year.

Also, if he leaves, I'll be pissed if he goes to a division rival, or Auburn, or Ole Miss or especially Bama.
