This is what would have happened if there was no vaccine, so your logic is flawed.
  • In the absence of a vaccination program, there would have been approximately 1.1 million additional COVID-19 deaths and more than 10.3 million additional COVID-19 hospitalizations in the U.S. by November 2021.
  • Without the U.S. vaccination program, COVID-19 deaths would have been approximately 3.2 times higher and COVID-19 hospitalizations approximately 4.9 times higher than the actual toll during 2021.
  • If no one had been vaccinated, daily deaths from COVID-19 could have jumped to as high as 21,000 per day — nearly 5.2 times the level of the record peak of more than 4,000 deaths per day recorded in January 2021.

I love that the death rates are assumed to just continue climbing. They are assuming it's the vaccine forcing the variants to be less deadly. Instead of the variants becoming less deadly on their own.

B) the number of people needing hospitalization is a minute %

Honest question, what % of positive Covid cases do you believe wind up in the hospital? Or what’s your chances of being admitted to the hospital for Covid? This is across the board average; all ages, health status, etc.

When we're well on the other side of this thing and can do a proper summative evaluation, I hope we have the wisdom to learn from our mistakes and leave a message of how not to act for the next time humanity goes through something like this.

Yes and even before Omnicron the CFR among the unvaxxed had gone down.

Depending on your "start" we were over 2% CFR at "first". Alpha to Delta was about 1.8% CFR. Then it dropped to 1.5%. We are now lower than that, about 1.39%. And remember this a cumulative average, so the delta rate was probably lower than 1.5 to pull 1.8 down.

The recent rates are averaging about .2% (including both vaxxed and unvaxxed). Cases are still spiking so deaths are still lagging, but I think we can assume the CFR will continue to drop.

2) Masks other than N95 and KN95 do very little

Joe Rogan can say and spread whatever he wants, it’s up to me to determine the credibility and validity of his message and make my own decision. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D-MI) administration undercounted coronavirus deaths inside the state’s long-term care facilities by approximately 30 percent, a state auditor general report seen by Fox News said.

The report that is scheduled to be released to the public Monday may reignite criticism of the governor’s performance during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the outlet.

“And when we were looking into this to see just how deadly that policy was, the nursing home death numbers we received from the department weren’t including everything,” Johnson said, confirming the number in the report was 30%. Johnson said there are “some serious questions that have to be asked” about the alleged undercounting and that “it does appear the people of Michigan were misled as to just how many nursing home deaths there were” due to Whitmer’s policies.​
“Seeing that it’s actually 30% higher is quite significant — we’re talking about thousands of lives that were not initially included in the department’s count,” Johnson noted.

It’s a touchy subject, what’s okay and what’s not okay with people who spread disinformation. I get what you are saying. Our freedom is important. Do you think there is ever a time when it is dangerous and someone needs to be stopped, doesn’t have to only apply to Covid.
