They had a choice right?
Nope. I'm tired of this response. My wife was fired for refusing a vaccine that she doesn't need and that doesn't stop her from getting the virus or from spreading it. Coercion is not choice. If someone puts a gun to your head and says "give me all your money." That's not choice. Telling employees "Take this shot or get fired" is not a choice. And the fact that so many in this country support that, especially with what we know now about the failures of the so called vaccine, is shameful

If an employer does it then there is a choice. If the govt does it there is no choice. Very big difference

This I could somewhat understand. Some big qualifiers:

1. Did he know?
2. Was he symptomatic?
3. Was he asked to be there?
4. Is there a stated policy?
No policy until after he was fired, Imagine that plus no pay for being forced to stay home & masks , yeah I know, worthless are required. I guess he had called off for 1 day and came back without getting a stupid test, even though that was never required until now

Had he had issues before? Written up or anything, firing for 1 event like that seems a bit harsh.

Sounds like he will get a good settlement

No those 700 cared about their own politics. Does their departure affect the "great work" being done?

Those 700 decided not to take the risk of a vaccine. This is a personal healthcare choice. Once again you're asking a different question and changing the goal posts. I'll go there if we close the book on the first question:

Can we agree that losing your job over a new company policy is worthy of "caring"? I'd sure care

So you consider research done with a political angle to be "great work"?

Their medical professionals who treat and cure patients do great work.

Their researchers provide valuble insights and do great work as well. I think of it like a local paper. They provide valuable information to the community even if there may be a tilt at times.

My biggest concern is when someone (this person has used a lot of politically motivated Tik Toks) posts vaccine mandates are good because the esteemed Mayo Clinic is forcing them. Yes, the Mayo Clinic is esteemed but yes, they have a polticial tilt as well. I just believe readers should realize "Yes, the Mayo Clinic is esteemed" AND "Yes, the Mayo Clinic has a political tilt" instead of one side of the argument.

They had a choice right?

Yes, they had a choice. They chose not to get the vaccine and the Mayo Clinic chose to terminate them.

If I decided to work for Facebook (a well left of center company), I should know that at some point, I might feel forced (or obligated) to do something that goes against my more middle of the road beliefs. Again, it's a choice and everyone involved had and made a choice.

Sure it is. You lose your job, you lose your livelihood. There's no severance, any PTO accrued is gone, there's no possibility of unemployment benefits either. But yeah, sure thing, it's a choice. Oh yeah, and they're doing that because they care about people. Sure thing. Just like the gunmen demanding your money. It's a choice.
