Writing JUST LIKE a lawyer…‘Cept no “whereas’” & “therefores’”…No one forces anyone to hire lawyers. According to almost everyone, “there are too many lawyers.” Lawyers compete in the free market, and if there are too many, that means their prices should be artificially low. It’s almost like legal services have value.
Paying $1m to save $12m is money well spent. Those lawyers earned their money. Kevin Steele made a lot more and did nothing to earn it.
So the University of Tennessee Volunteers isn't part of the University of Tennessee? Interesting concept since the players must be students at the University.Common mistake, to lump football in the same category.
Never said wasn’t. But if you believe it operates in the same way as all the other departments then congratulations on finally finding your way out of that cave you’ve been lost in for the las 50 yearsSo the University of Tennessee Volunteers isn't part of the University of Tennessee? It's also interesting that the coaches are employees of the University, hired by the Athletic Director, who is hired by the Chancellor, President, and Board of the University.
But sure, pardon me for assuming football is part of the University of Tennessee.
Actually, that's EXACTLY why the courts are quickly coming after amateur status. The schools HAVE been operating as businesses, not academic institutions, and not paying the players.Never said wasn’t. So do you think Jimmy Cheek did any better? This is all Blonde Donde's mess to clean up, Boyd came up with the money to payoff the contractual obligations that needed to be paid, Donde signed Foolmer and Pruitt's extensions with little to no inquiry, Foolmer looks like a paid and biased witness for the university, but the proof is expected to show lack of institutional control, an AD more interested in football practice than strict compliance with the improper benefits rules, ought to be interesting how Blonde Donde comes out on this one
Meh, idk. This was a flaming dumpster of poo to clean up. Honestly think UT is getting off cheap if this ends up being it and assuming they get off without significant sanctions. Lawyers damn sure did more to earn their paycheck than Fulmer or Steele did. Tennessee is good at wasting money.Blood sucking lawyers
Acceptable answer? You’re talking one million dollars for an athletic dept that reels in over 100x that annually. If you want specifics the AD provided the money; if you want more specifics some donors would’ve happily ear marked that particular money to make Pruitt and Fulmer history. TV money, booster donations, sells and attendance of fans are all revenue streams that fuel the AD’s budget. That's not really an acceptable answer if you truly know it's pocket change. Whose money?
The athletic department is a separate financial entity and not a part of the university in those terms. So the University of Tennessee Volunteers isn't part of the University of Tennessee? Interesting concept since the players must be students at the University.

Yep, wait until people are in a bind & charge great fees….. that’s a blood sucker aright. You nailed it
