Cyprus Finds Covid-19 Infections That Combine Delta and Omicron

“There are currently omicron and delta co-infections and we found this strain that is a combination of these two,” Kostrikis said in an interview with Sigma TV Friday. The discovery was named “deltacron” due to the identification of omicron-like genetic signatures within the delta genomes, he said.

Kostrikis and his team have identified 25 such cases and the statistical analysis shows that the relative frequency of the combined infection is higher among patients hospitalized due to Covid-19 as compared to non-hospitalized patients. The sequences of the 25 deltacron cases were sent to GISAID, the international database that tracks changes in the virus, on Jan. 7.

that's it? the post implies it was a common enough occurrence that one might here this type talk and that more than one person had actual plans to commit violence thwarted; not threats - plans.

did you listen to this? he only threatened legal action against the health care workers. his last comment was a more generalized comment and wasn't a specific threat. there is no plan to commit violence against HC workers here.

Last year I got tested for the Flu with a Covid test but I had no symptoms. Positive for Flu, negative for Covid. I had asymptomatic Flu and never realized it.

I bet if I would have died of something unrelated I wouldn’t have been marked as dying “with” the Flu.

Asymptomatic viruses are probably more prevalent than we really realize. That is why I know these stats “with Covid” are crap. They are looking for it, nothing else. It says nothing about the lethality of the virus itself.

We’ve had another death from Covid in my neighborhood. Not “with”. “From”. That’s 4 people in my neighborhood. No other issues. All unvaccinated. I guess I just live near the unlucky 1%.

I got vaccinated because I had to for work last Summer. That said, me getting vaccinated does nothing to protect those around me, at least not to the magnitude we are being told. Anecdotally, my wife also got vaccinated and popped positive two months after she got vaccinated (and we sleep in the same bed). I tested negative and never got sick. 2 of our 3 children got sick and both tested negative, and they were not vaccinated.

Just in that small sample the narrative around this virus and the efficacy of the current vaccines and testing were obliterated.

I think on balance it is best to get vaccinated. That said, a lot of what we are being told about effectiveness is moronic as well. Sure it helps, but the narrative if everybody got vaccinated it would go away and life be back to normal is equally moronic.

The sheer percentage of 2 years worth of natural immunity and a year worth of vaccines, can not support the idea that the unvaccinated are spreading it at a significantly higher rate. Our CEO was out last week with it as were the other 4 in his family, all vaccinated and all boosted. I would wager my salary the spread was solely within their family, outside of the first infection. So there’s a minimum of a 1:1 spread right there if not greater (CEO may have given it to all 4).

And yet the infectious disease dr we see often says the exact opposite of your antidotal examples. And he does it with studies.

he isn’t part of some vast dumbass conspiracy either. If he was he would not have told us earlier this week that neither natural immunity or the vaccine are providing protection against the Omni variant. He would have lied and said the vaccine was working still. But that’s not what the studies say. He also would not be telling us the Omni variant is doing the opposite by providing protection vs the more serious variants.

The vaccine isn’t fool proof…. It’s just a tool to help prevent spread and serious illness…. I feel that being vaccinated lessens the viral load on the individual and therefore doesn’t make the person as sick that you may spread it too.

I think everyone should decide what’s best for themselves.
Just don’t lie to yourself in the decision making process.

get vaccinated or don’t it really doesn’t matter to me. Everyone should go about their business and be prepared to live with their decision and any possible consequences.
