The Atlanta Braves

Still hovering in the 99-100 temp range. She’s not too bad, just fussy. My boy had it beat but his temp came back. Now the wife has it. She is around 99-101.5 in temp depending on when she’s taking meds. And I am running around like a mad man, but I’m doing good. All and all, we’re doing ok. Just praying little girl’s temp stays at these levels

Then he might should have sat out the Egg Bowl and he Tennessee game and the Bama game too.
Bowl games have always been in a quasi-gray area as far as meaningfulness; it's just become common to opt out in more recent years. They used to not even count towards a player's career stats until about 20 years ago.

It’s incredible people don’t see this. Hell it wasn’t until the 70’s until they considered them for national champions.

You could get hurt just as easily
Something is meaningful or not purely because people assign meaning to it, or they don’t. The Masters has a lot of meaning because the players believe it does. The Viagra Open doesn’t because the players don’t think it does.

CFB has been big business for decades now. The players are simply joining the coaches, TV networks, admins, etc. in making business decisions. Draft-eligible guys, rightly or wrongly, are making business decisions to opt out of non-championship games that have always existed in something of a gray area as far as meaningfulness. These games, even when guys didn’t opt out, always felt “different” from regular season games.

Once your team has lost a couple of games and has no shot at the semifinals, pro prospects should all just opt out right then. Everything from that point is meaningless

That's actually a good point I hadn't thought about in regards to playing towards a glorified sponsored exhibition
