Alontae Taylor opting out of the bowl

I’d only be pissed if it was a NY6 bowl or better. Like Pickett and Kenneth Walker sitting out of those bowls, I’d be pissed off if I was a fan of either team. Those are bowls that could actually change the trajectory of a program. Music Sh*tty? Wgaf.

Not a chance! I highly doubt any of his teammates are with you on this.
This game was virtually meaningless for the program moving forward, as are all the meaningless bowl games
Agree that most teammates weren't disturbed by his absence but disagree about the importance of the game.
Games are only "meaningless" when you lose.

Personally, I'd want to finish the season with my team, but I'm not in that position. All I know is I never questioned his heart when he played the other 12 games this year.

I feel your pain from Thursday and of course you are entitled to your opinion but I disagree with you. Save your anger for those who deserted us 12 months ago (our biggest loss was Lawrence) players like Alonte will always be revered by me as they stayed and ultimately gave.us a base to build on. He also played hurt most of the year.

I will cheer you on, on Sundays Alonte, your are a VFL

OP is misguided but the team clearly missed AT. OTOH, we almost won regardless. Brutal ending to the game but a wonderful season of football.

Millions of dollars? That’s a life changing amount. If my kid had the talent and opportunity to go to the NFL I’d completely understand.
Obviously we have different opinions. Remember just for one ( or maybe you’re too young) a kid that came out of New Orleans that chose to come back and play a whole year, not just a bowl game? He took a chance on millions……
if you’ll look I stated that I understand, I just don’t personally like it.

Shows a lack of character to abandon your teammates when this game could help the program move forward with a win. I wish him well in the future but its disappointing to see him not step up. The lack of loyalty will come back to bite him eventually.
I was surprised to hear Troy Fleming, call out guys that opt out of bowl games. He wasn’t specifically talking about UT guys and didn’t name anyone, but basically said he doesn’t understand how you can quit on your brothers and university.
GBO!!

listen, college football is now setup like the NFL. With the transfer portal and allowing players to move without even sitting out they have thrown away loyalty. there is no such thing any longer. Players are being programmed to look after themselves and rightly so. Coaches are allowed to trim fat from the roster to be able to replace players with better players so players should be allowed to move about. I might not like it but I sure understand it.

Once a player makes the decision to move on from the program, its better for him and the program for him to move on. If you don't want to be there, you won't perform your best.

Dude has been through more than players should have been in their college careers. Would been nice to have him but he gave enough for his school. You cant question his loyalty.

I’m sure AT will keep this thread in mind when he gets that first direct deposit from his NFL team.

The only person who isn’t a VFL here is the OP.

For the d-bag haters...he's basically a consensus mid round pick. Most have him between rounds 3 and 5. A number of outlets have him as a top 100 overall player. Best I've seen is 78th overall.

Anything can happen and it's not exact. But the hate is asinine. Support the dude. He played his ass off for years for your team. Who gives an ish about a dec 30th bowl game?
I don’t hate him, or hate on him. Just wished he would have played. My opinion
