Tiffany's Thread (updates and prayers, and a place where she can smack Joe in public when he needs it :)

Not sure, nurse stopped me as I was walking out and said the case manager should be calling her room. Hopefully we'll find out something soon.
If it's an option to get it filled up here, we'll get it and bring it down. Just text me. Hopefully they know soon while pharmacies are still open.

Idk, hospitals kill me about stuff like this. Dr told her this morning she was probably going home, and the nurse had no idea until about an hour ago. I get they're busy, but goodness. Now the case management is working trying to find the medicine, which likely won't be today. I'm still hoping, gonna run down the road and get her a salad and steak from longhorns. Hopefully they find it by the time I get back.
What's the med called ?

Me too. If I had had my sh*t together in my early 20s I had the opportunity to go into pharmaceutical sales after college. Despite the fact I would have made a boatload of money, I’m glad I didn’t.

Ha, you arent like most pharma reps. Well, except for the eyeliner.

Dificid, sure I spelled wrong.
Luckily, when my wife was treated with dificid, she was in the hospital already and we had reached our out-of-pocket max for the year.
Did they make everyone on the hospital floor wear what look like hazmat suits?
They did in our case.

Edit: I have a student who graduated in 2018 I still have contact with. She had so many UTIs and was on so many antibiotics they finally realized she had carried c-diff around for about a year by the time they got around to testing for it. Unthinkable and scary.

Yeah, had the signs on the door, and PPE outside of the door. I never realized how contagious, and dangerous, that stuff can be.

It is crazy to me that it is caused by basically "too many antibiotics," yet it is so contagious to others.
I agree, I've pondered on that for a couple of days. I'll tell you another one that's boggling my mind, and this isn't some conspiracy thing, I just don't comprehend it. They have two dispensers in each room, soap and antibacterial soap. Soon as she tested positive, they covered the antibacterial soap, and told us, and the other nurses to use soap only. I asked why, and the Dr told me that the regular hand soap kills more germs. So I asked why the big push for antibacterial soap during Corona vs regular soap. Again, nothing conspiracy about that, I just don't understand why. In my head, the antibacterial should be best, but they literally taped it up. Idk, just messing with my head 🤣

no I think it's a valid question
what did they say?
I mean, in the context of covid, antibacterial wouldn't make a difference because covid is a virus.
Is it because the c-diff is caused by "anti-bacterial bombardment" already, I wonder?

They just said the hand soap kills germs better, may have meant just for the c-diff, but didn't explain it. I've just been curious, cause of the big push on antibacterial for two years. I know both fall under"wash your hands", but in my head antibacterial was better 🤣

Neither kills Covid on their own, because Covid is a virus, not a bacterium.

But traditional soap (with or without antibacterial) requires rubbing/scrubbing, and the friction does work on viruses. Plus soap itself, actual soap, breaks the outer wall of viruses.

The antibacterial squirt doesn’t ask for scrubbing, and it doesn’t have the soap molecules that break down the virus outer defenses. It does still work for most bacteria though, like E. coli and friends, so it’s not a fraud. It’s just not very effective against viruses (cold, flu, Covid.)
