How come Tillman didn’t catch the TD Pass?

You know, what was as bad in my eyes is the fact that some of the PIs were not called by the official standing within 5 yards of the play LOOKING at the play, but were called by somebody 25 yards away on the other side of the field.
Remember, all they have to do is make A call. They know the rules of reviewing and they know what can and can’t be reviewed, as well as the whole “indisputable evidence” thing.
That’s no small thing. Officials can greatly affect the outcome of a game by little things like that.
I hope none of those clowns ever officiate a UT game and it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if MCB was no longer an option for the Vols postseason.

Liked you post until the comment blaming the MCB. Do you think they really had something to do with the way the game was called. I think not. As to the team of ref's, right, no more.

Purdue only had 5 penalties the entire game and two were personal fouls (Tillman getting body slammed & Beasley getting his helmet ripped off). I think(?) I remember they had one for illegal formation, and 1 PI (on Fant), so that only leaves 1more the entire game. I have never been one for "conspiracy" either, but yesterday sure would leave a person wondering due to the lopsided calls.
One of the PF was offsetting though it looked rather more like their player hit was late after the whistle while ours was a hard block during play. If it was a penalty on us it should’ve been holding or hands to the face. Not a dead ball PF.

My husband was so mad at that. It isn't fair to the players, at all.

I forgot about that one. So that would be the 5th penalty. Not one time did they get called for holding offensively or defensively. Unreal

I said that all night. They also kept letting guys on the wrong side make the spot, which is why they were constantly so damn terrible.

These refs had money on the game. No other explanation.

This.

How many here had ALREADY been screaming at the TV that the refs were not gonna LET US WIN waaaaaaaay before the 4th qtr no call on PU or the OT garbage?

15 flags versus 5 flags on them? Blatant drive killers of Holdingx2 etc? Flag for holding on a return back at the 10yd line that flag wasmt thrown until Velus was at the 50yd line? Was PU ever flagged for a hold? Entire game? What about blatant Pass int?

The fix was in from the get go. It was so very obvious.

My take too. That wasn’t incompetent officiating but corrupt officials.

I know Burrell had one of the worst games ever for a UT DB but I think he got hosed on that last long TD pass he gave up as well.

When the receiver puts 2 hands into the DBs chest and pushes off with both arms fully extended that is interference.
I agree. At the same time he’s got to hold his ground though

I thought I saw that also. I could swear there was a pushoff that ended up with Burrell on the ground there.

That’s 2 ACC crews that’s really screwed Tennessee this season. No question that ACC is very anti SEC after the Tx-OU thing.

Well, kind of hard to catch up to the ball when the defender is holding your jersey. No flag was thrown.

Rigged officiating.

The ref isn't even looking at the play!...They just refused to call pass interference or holding on Purdue...I was litterly screamng at the TV several times with those guys holding and no flag....Not like they could hear me or anything but I'm sure I wasn't the only one...Just a horrible horrible ref job yesterday.

Mentioned this in a thread that got deleted. Purdue opened -3, last line I saw was Wednesday night Tennessee -7.5. That is more than a 10 point swing. I know little about sports books, but it’s my understanding that it takes a lot of money coming in on 1 side to move a line. The line moving as much as it did suggests to me that the majority of bets kept coming in on Tennessee.

Now let’s consider what we saw from the officiating crew last night. Most are focused on the 4th down in OT, but the truth from my perspective is officiating was a big reason Purdue hung around. False start on the center? Holding on a 40 yard KO return? Did they call holding on Purdue’s OL a single time? OPI? Multiple questionable drive sustaining PI’s? Tillman’s jersey?

Not a conspiracy theorist, but I’m definitely interested in what the house took in on this game.

This game leaves me believing in conspiracy theories RE officiating. What exactly does UT have to do to get a fair shake? The photo in the OP wasn't just a one time thing. Wonder why it looked like Hooker was overthrowing guys all night? Part of it was him. But part was their DB's holding UT's receivers just like that. The officials let them get away with it then gave them EVERY benefit of the doubt on PI calls when UT was on D.

They should be investigated.
