You mean when we are faulted for over 100 yards in penalties, they credit for a TD they dropped, miss a blatant pass interference at the end of the game, and then our RB who never stopped moving forward was considered down by forward progress?

This coaching staff looks no better than the last 3 after this game. Pissed away a great year with inability to handle the clock and play calls.

So they overachieved on the season but lost the bowl game so they suck….got it.

What kind of ref, besides a corrupt one, doesn't wait until a knee, elbow, whatever goes down, especially in that situation.

Then they call PI on us a hundred times and don't call the hold on Tillman at the end if regulation.

Line judge marked it a yard extra for Purdue pretty much all game.

Something was afoot on this game.

Something should be done about the PI calls in football. They are so arbitrary....

Hell, the knock on Purdue coming into this game is that they don’t defend intermediate routes and slants well.

What did we do? Barely utilize that to our advantage.

I’m not sure why anyone is surprised by the D tonight. It’s been that way all year and we knew game 1 that is how it was going to be this season. We have a depleted roster on D. Only way to correct is get more and better players here.

Side judge, unfortunately. Apparently his signal’s the determinant by rule for when forward progress is stopped, not the time it takes for his signal to turn into a following whistle blow by him or the other refs.

That said, it still sucks for a game to end that way and a unfortunate end; don’t get me wrong on that. Maybe it’s something that can be looked into.

He went for it on two 4th downs in overtime because that’s what he thinks of the “Music City Bowl” Championship. I love the dude. And it’s gonna be a great offseason and can finally look forward to an upcoming College Football Season.

Sort of agree, however, his play Call on first and goal at the 2 years line was baffling. And then Hooker going under center on 4th and goal from the 1 for the first time this year, really?

Can't forget the whiffed intentional grounding keeping a drive alive, the OPI that gave them a touchdown, and a hold called on us that, while a hold, had not been called all night the other way.

The NCAA claiming that forward progress is stopped when the ref determines forward progress is stopped vs when the whistle is blown is a slippery slope and dangerous for the NCAA to hang their hat on.

Especially when you call fwd progress a fraction of a second after contact, when the player is still advancing fwd, and before the whistle has blown!

Really everything from the field conditions up were bad tonight. Oline was swiss cheese, Hooker ran too much ang got himself too banged up to make decent throws. Tackling was abysmal. Burrell. The entire secondary. Heupel didn't adjust his play calling when it stopped working. ACC refs.

To beat it all Purdue is a mediocre at best team.

Agree on everything else except purdue is pretty good but we still should have won

Heupel can use this as a learning experience in regards to certain decisions he made. Got no problem going for it in OT at the goal line. But the play calling/execution on last drive was inexcusable. You have to use all your TO’s and get the ball into reasonable field goal range. That means short passes to the middle. Every NFL coach knows this.

Refs were garbage but what else is new? For the billion dollar industry that P5 college football is, to have referee crews who do this as a part time job is a joke.
