Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I'd prefer he 1) stop minimizing the virus. 2) really promote vaccinations. No more of this half azzed yeah you should, but ...
it's okay if you don't, crap. 3) he ought to announce emergency funding to purchase and distribute rapid tests.

Good start.
1. Everyone knows about this virus. What else can he add about the seriousness of it?
2. Why do you care if others take the vaccine? I assume you’ve had it and assume your family has. You should be fine. At this point everyone knows the risk they are taking. It’s their job to determine what’s best for them. Having the vaccine clearly doesn’t stop you from getting it or spreading it.
3. Isn’t there a nationwide shortage? Analysis: Biden grapples with a Covid-19 testing failure that could have been foreseen

Both of my kids (two doses of Pfizer; one in November and one in early December) caught omicron. One stayed completely asymptomatic. The other had low grade fever (99-100) for two days and some sniffles. Both are now back to normal. I (thrice jabbed with Pfizer) stayed negative throughout, despite quarantining and caring for them. Pretty damn happy with the vaccine performance. I know several people who didn't get the booster and are getting b*tch-slapped by omicron. Not hospitalized, but miserable for a few days.

Question for you. How do you know it was the omicron variant? Are you just assuming? Or is that what the doctors told you it was?

I keep wondering when some big domino is going to fall. Some country or league or something that says F this, we’re done with it. Behave how you desire but we are not in the business of monitoring it.

I beg to differ. If properly prescribed and monitored, there should be no mental disassociation.

Despite being on a high dose of my prescribed medicine, I am fully capable of the full range of emotional experience. I simply no longer have obtrusive thoughts of worthlessness or obsess about how people feel about me.

I’m happy they’ve worked for you truly. I’m biased, some of those medications have wrecked family of mine.

I understand, and I am sorry for the bad outcome. That happened with my brother; his doctor didn't care to find one that fit. Almost landed him in jail.

And you of course want him to continue to push access to therapeutics as his admin was at the forefront of emphasizing those medicines. I mean you actually care about people getting better not just politicizing the vaccine… right?
Therapeutics don’t work for most, because most severe cases don’t show up to the ED till about day 8-10 of infection (often because they aren’t vaccinated and “don’t believe” in COVID). For most therapeutics to be effective they have to be used much earlier than that… not to mention the supply of monoclonal antibodies is low and if a region experienced a surge of hospitalizations they run out fast.

Here is an actual helpful response to recent COVID surge: Federal strike team will soon arrive at central Pa. hospital strained by COVID-19

That isn’t an excuse to not put the resources into the hands of the care providers. And then MAb running out is part of the issue the idiot in chief is too all in on vax without addressing breakthroughs. They both need to be addressed.
