I'm not into that showing of strength nonsense on the world stage. Right now, we are going through a civil war in this country and have far bigger concerns than saving face.

This isn't the Bloods and Crips, Game of Thrones or a pack of wolves we are talking about. We are talking about nuclear armed states that are being pushed into conflict. Mutually assured destruction is still a bargaining chip... will always be a bargaining chip. There will always be an alpha on the world stage. Doesn't matter if YOU believe it to be nonsense. Part of the issue in this country at the moment is the belief everyone should achieve the same result with varying effort. Strength and weakness will exist, the only question will be, who is the alpha?
I agree with part of this. The difference you and I have is you are a Putin fan. I believe him to be a sorry excuse for a human being. The world would be better off if he "accidentally " fell from a window. This isn't the Bloods and Crips, Game of Thrones or a pack of wolves we are talking about. We need to be pushing g diplomacy and pragmatism overseas and fighting the tyrants we have at home.
Who is threatening the United States? We have Russia and Ukraine in Europe and China and Taiwan in the Pacific. North Korea isn't a serious threat, nor is Iran. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. This adminstration has made its bed. Everything will be harder against our adversaries until they are replaced.

I will agree we have work to do at home. If you wait for the threat to reveal itself, have you done your due diligence? See 20th century for reference.Who is threatening the United States? Meanwhile, we had insurgents taking over city blocks in Seattle and Nashville and others attacking our daily lives and liberties.
You guys have your priorities in the wrong place.
The 20th Century mistakes are the exact reason why I'm saying what I am. We created or exacerbated a lot of these issues by not being pragmatic. This country wasted the blessing it was given after World War II and doubled down on that by blowing the same opportunity after the fall of communism (the fall of communism overseas, not necessarily at home). We chose to play the "alpha dog" imperialist game instead of using the time and resources to improve mankind... or at the very least, making life here far better than what we ended up doing.I will agree we have work to do at home.
