Why are you linking me a non peer reviewed study about mandate efficacy (not even mask efficacy) from a couple guys at UofL as definitive proof?

Here is a very recent peer reviewed piece you can review that you keep saying doesn’t exist

And it’s not like things of this nature are hard to find. I don’t really know what you’re even on about saying there are no studies showing mask effectiveness. There are literally thousands.

but that’s not how this vaccine works?

It doesn’t prevent you from getting it, it reduces the likelihood by strengthening your immune response. It also help you fight it off more effectively if you get it.

The US Army has developed a vaccine that is extremely promising and might be the definitive one. We’ll know soon.

I believe the vaccine is effective because I can see the effect with my own eyes, I think masks are a f'n joke for the same reason..you cannot say masks are the reason flu numbers are low, while also saying the reason covid numbers is high is because of people not wearing masks...you can't have it both ways.

I know my feelings about this stuff piss off both sides...and I don't care.

Vaccine effectiveness in preventing death is pretty inarguable at this point. What are we up to now? 90% of all new deaths are the unvaccinated?

That's great, except that the stated topic of this specific thread is "Coronavirus (No politics)". So, at least as far as this one thread is concerned, discussion concerning the subject of COVID vaccination is relevant.

If you would rather discuss sports instead, then maybe you shouldn't click on a thread title which says "Coronavirus (No politics)", and then post messages in it?

Just a thought.

I think the death number was like 95-98% unvaxxed in the SE Kentucky area I live a few weeks ago...at that point the new case numbers were running 85-90% unvaxxed.

If you go back and look at the Spanish flu, which was the last pandemic, it has mirrored this pandemic almost exactly. If that remains the same the optimist prime variant brings us to endemic.

Just one other thought sir this post ended up in the right place the pub. I’m thankful that freak moved it to where it belongs. It should have never been posted in our Volnation football section. Glad it got moved

So...my household is missing Christmas with family and staying home. Wife had a bad headache start Monday that lasted the entire day Tuesday and came with some very mild cold symptoms. I had a weird headache come on Wednesday along with some unusual exhaustion...much like how I felt after getting the booster shot. My wife found out on Wednesday that someone at her small office Christmas party from the Friday before had tested positive that day (Wed) with only a scratchy throat when they tried to fly home to Germany. She got tested that day and it came back negative, but the doctor said she had classic omicron symptoms and to just stay home through the weekend...and that's what we're doing. I've got an 89 year old grandmother that's on hospice after COVID almost killed her a year ago and I don't want to be responsible for her ultimately going out to another round of COVID. Fortunately my 10 year old son that's been vaccinated isn't showing any symptoms to this point.

Hopefully this weak variant will finally be what beats COVID because it's been pretty obvious for at least the last year that it would have to beat itself. It's going to be pretty hard for folks to avoid this one.

my wifes Great Aunt wasnt as lucky your family member. She was 90.
