Rooting for SEC

I agree. But when the Big 10, Pac 12, ACC, and Big 12 are running their mouths claiming the SEC is not the toughest conference in the land (and it is), this kind of slides into one of those gray areas.

So while I do not root for other SEC teams to win, I hope they leave the other conference foes black and blue, win or lose.

I can't understand this kind of thinking. I've been a Tennessee fan since I first stepped onto the campus in 1972. Been through the ups and downs over all those years. The one thing that I've always held onto is that regardless of how our conference record turned out...it was SEC and conference losses were often to some of the BEST teams in the country. When those same teams play in Bowl games...I'm pulling for them them to WIN...BIG.
All you'ns can hate all you want, but I would prefer to be playing in the best conference in the country. If you can't accept losses to better programs... Perhaps you should look into moving the VOLS into the Ohio Valley Conference..??

No it doesn’t. No one is gonna say man that 7-5 team had a better or worse record pending on bowl game results. What people will remember is Tn wasn’t very good that year.

That’s like a version 3 years later. No one says well that’s the year all the teams TN played lost their bowl games. Therefore they were worse than their record showed. I can’t tell you what the teams did last year. Bc I don’t care about anyone but TN.

I root for all SEC teams during the bowl season....even Florida, as distasteful as that is. I'll also be rooting for you, Sir. Prayers for your continued good health.

I am usually rooting against the SEC East and any team that recruits the same players/area. Clemson/Virginia Tech /NC/NC State all the SEC west except Miss State & Arkansas. Anything that helps up get back on top recruiting-wise.

I get the not pulling for other teams due to recruiting and just plain dislike, but on the other hand I would hate to be like Cincinnati and go thru the season undefeated and have the question of "who have they played" asked.

I want to be able to say hey, my team went thru an SEC schedule and was undefeated and they are clearly the best.

While you may not agree with me, you must understand where I'm coming from if you don't want to be like Cincinnati.

Then again, if you want to be like Cincinnati you can go on and not want any other SEC teams to ever win unless one has too when they play another one.

Some SEC teams I WILL NEVER PULL FOR: bama, florida, vandy, georgia
Some I will occasionally pull for if their win directly helps us, otherwise I don't pull for them: tx a&m, lsu, ky, auburn
Some I don't particularly care, put tend to pull for them since they have traditionally been the underdog: msu, ole miss, arkansas, s car
Disclaimer: I always pull for whomever is playing bama or florida. If they are playing each other, I hope they both lose.

I'd rather plant some trees with tall fences around them before I'd trust a bammer
