I mean, good teams don’t build depth by always playing Freshmen & Sophomore.

Ideally you get a 4 year guy, by his Junior season he’s starting. Then by the time he graduates you got another guy ready to go entering his 2nd or 3rd season on the team.

Navy & Jackson both will be entering year 2 with us after next season when Hendo enters the draft.

People underestimating Tyson in his prime. The downfall of Tyson began before he ever became champion. It started when Cus D'Amato died. Cus kept him focused. Then Tyson got involved with the circus that is/was Don King and things really went south. There was a reason Tyosn was called "the baddest man on the planet". As great a tactician as Ali was, I'm not convinced he beats Tyson in his prime.

I'll give you and @MrVolton the last word after this post if you all want it.
All im saying is, giving young keys reps on game day is super important game experience matters more than you think it does. Also continuity within the system from having guys for 3-4 years. I dont disagree that you want to get to a place where guys only play a few years, but do that while building depth from within. Play the young guys let them learn and as they grow the program grows, not forcing guys in.

My last thoughts, I dont hate Heupel just how he is rebuilding the roster, I think its going to cause major problems in the years that TN should actually be decent. If you look at the situations hes come from he was at Utah State in 2015 they went 6-7. When he was at Mizzou his offenses did ok, but got beaten up on by weaker teams. At OU he had loaded rosters. Hes never rebuilt a roster before.

I say all that to say, wether you azzholes believe me or not, I want the same thing everyone on here wants which is TN to be good again. U just dont agree with how its being done. Transfers cause depth issues, this class really isnt that good 7th in the SEC right where TN has recruited the last 5-6 years nothing special, and who did he really beat this season (I know that one will ruffle some feathers.) Im sorry but there really isnt all this momentum that people want to believe they see.

If it were like JUCO and we were having to use some of our annual 25 spots, I might agree with you. But it’s not. Not wanting to upgrade spots on the roster, just because you might be taking reps from someone doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. We can bring in 5-7 per year to replace 5-7 that transfer out, that is a big help for turning over a roster badly in need of turning over. You definitely want a solid core of 3-5 year developmental guys, but a program at our point needs to be able to upgrade a few spots on either side of the ball in a hurry too.

Placing a premium on having guys with 3 or 4 years of continuity over immediately upgrading talent might work somewhere like Iowa, but this ain’t Iowa and we don’t play in the Big 10.

Bringing in guys to be decent earlier than the 4 - 6 years everyone claims you need is not a bad thing. And the fact that our current class is 7th in the SEC, and the last 5-6 years haven’t been anything special is all the more reason to supplement from the transfer portal. Huepel did an outstanding job this year taking care of all the teams we should be taking care of, which hasn’t happened in quite a while here. The momentum is 100% as good as could be expected right now.

Lol at azzholes.

🤦‍♂️Did you even read the chain of posts before you typed this out? My response is to Jack being so dense about Fant saying "let's run it back"..
You're response to me is just as dense..🤦‍♂️

I love Fant, I am glad he is sticking around for another season..aka.."running it back"
Dude I don’t know what your uncle and his friends did to you in that cabin, but I wasn’t a part of it. Don’t take your anger out on me

So. . . Shane Beamer finishes 6-6 with a loss to UT and receives an A.

Heupel finishes 7-5 with a win over Beamer and gets an A-. . .
Lol at him grading Beamer higher than Heupel. Before the season he said we wouldn’t be bowl eligible for years. Heup goes 7-5 including a dog walking of Beamer and SC and he’s graded lower. Makes sense

Beamer is a media darling guys. I don’t know if it’s because he was at UGA and Oklahoma recently, but he’s liked by the writers and analysts and gets good press because of it.

Yes. Mind bogglingly stupid.

After Cus's death, the vultures picked Mike apart. And Mike didn't do himself any favors as he was his own worst enemy for most of his life.
If Cus had lived to see it through, Mike may have retired as an undefeated champion.

I don't think checkerboards is a troll. I think he wants Tennessee to win. He just wants them to do it his way and does not care what you think about it. He might actually have some good points if he presented them in a way that did not make everyone believe he thinks we are all idiots for disagreeing with him.

And if some of that 💩 was not so idiotic.
