He might be able to beat Mike, but he'd have to survive the first 3 or 4 rounds and that'd be a tall order for a guy that has only fought a handful of solid boxers.

He's fought a better version of Tyson with more power than Tyson three times already and beat him twice.

Tyson wasn't even the best boxer of his own generation. Doesn't belong in any conversation as Fury.

From a very reliable poster in Memphis on VQ:

I have known Penny for a long time and I don't know what to say. He has always been a person who had a heart for people and it is hard for me to believe that he intentionally put the players in danger. I am hoping that what I am hearing is not true. Penny is a good person and is taking a lot of HEAT. I need to step back and maybe be more objective. A lot of the big money boosters are very embarrassed. Once again I just do not know what to say.

Dana White has always been an opinionated a-hole, but he's also been a boxing guy even before he got involved with UFC. And I remember when James "Lights Out" Toney was pushing to fight someone from the UFC, White was quick to say that it would have to be in the cage, I remember him saying something along the lines of "if they were good boxers they wouldn't be fighting for us" cause he understands the money and that it's still heavily with boxing.

Big boxing events have 4 to 6 fights...and even then the money starts at the top (main event fighters) and trickles down. Even the highest rated buy rate UFC event had 12 fights on it still, and they stagger their money to pay the promotion and then the main guys etc.

Not to derail the movie thread, but after living through the recruiting cycle on Volnation for the past dozen years or so (thanks @Freak ) I was wondering if we shouldn't have a permanent thread of required reading understanding how the recruiting process works, not only for FF members that wander over, but also for everyone in general as the rules continue to change around the transfer portal, etc. Something that shows who counts against initial counters, the fact that transfer players don't actually sign anything they just enroll, etc.? Thought it might be a good informational thread people could use and be pointed to in hopes of better understanding. Just a thought.

Pressure of a big job makes you cut corners. I don't know Penny but he's never struck me as a super ethical person to begin with. I've always considered him more or a snake oil salesman in his aau coaching career.

Unfortunately, Tyson Fury would beat most all those guys listed. It's a different era. He's too big and too skilled. Mike Tyson couldn't even touch his head. He would be like a child in there. Watch the one round old Larry Holmes decided to box on his toes verses Mike. Fury could do that twice as well for 12 rounds with half a foot more size. Not a good match. Lennox Lewis is the only guy I think that could give him problems and that's not a given. Everyone else would have nothing but a punchers chance. He's just too big and too good. Now if those 90s guys had the same size then it's a different story. But they didn't. And this is coming from a guy who is NOT a big Fury fan. I like Wilder to be honest. However, I'm not blind so Fury is the better fighter.

Fury is very undervalued. He is truly an all time great

He grew up just up the road from where we used to live until a few years ago. Active in the community. Helps the kids in the old neighborhood he came from.

He's a good guy and an even better boxer. I was really hoping he could pull out that fight against Alvarez but it went about like I thought it would.

I feel like Tyson Fury has fought mostly nobodies, I keep up with boxing pretty well and really only 2 names stood out to me. One was 39 when they fought and the other has next to no boxing, just wild, wide hooks and max power.

What used to impress about Mike was how quick and agile he was. The power he could generate came from his skill and speed throwing punches in the pocket. Once he stopped doing that and started head hunting he lost it.

Fury could beat him I mean his size and skill puts him in contention during any era. But if he tries to lay on Mike and wear him down with the dirty boxing tactics he would play into Mike’s strength and get put to sleep with one of those nasty uppercuts or get chopped down to the body.

But even if it wasn't a dive he KO'd a MMA fighter who has **** boxing that's almost 40 and had left his MMA career on a 4 fight losing streak. Not to mention the fact Jake hand picks smaller/older guys for every fight he's had.

Yep….. jake Paul is just making bank….. not real boxing.
