Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

...and notice how infrequently he is placed into that setting. The only times he is publicly challenged on anything is in little 5 minute segments in a hearing in front of Rand Paul or Ted Cruz, who are political hacks themselves. He's basically never pressed by the media or anybody else in any other setting, even though he hasn't done much other than make contradicting (not contradicting Trump, contradicting himself), confusing, and impractical statements since COVID began.

Lmao! The media gtfo

Will be interesting to see the outcome of a society that stops listening to the professionals on given topics due to conspiracy theories. Don't take away my liberties, dammit!!
Been happening for decades. It's actually just part of being a professional. Doesnt change how that professional is supposed to act.

Part of being a professional is being able to back up your work and explain it to the general public. As with most things is not what you are trying to sell, but how you are selling it that matters.

You watch those channels? Tell me about their propaganda.
Don't ever watch them (including Fox). Just see the video clips of Fauci and the virus fear porn they put out on places like Telegram or Twitter. They seem to love the guy and as others have pointed out, they never ask him hard questions. They also try to prop up this failure of a "so called" president we have. If Eric Jr. had lost a laptop with all kinds of bad stuff on it, CNN would be talking about it 24/7 (but that's another thread).

Can anyone tell me how this omicron variant is supposed to cause "record" deaths here when it's so weak ground zero from it is doing nothing about it?
I haven't even heard the doomers say it will cause "record" deaths. The doomers appear to be executing goal post move #67,302, which is to start focusing on the number of new cases (again).

I love the smell of misused scare quotes in the morning. The use of scare quotes around "so called" actually suggests the opposite. You know that, right?

There's a moving company in NYC that has "movers who care" emblazoned on its vans. I laugh every time I see it, knowing that they've conveyed the exact opposite of what they want to convey.

40 Times People Misused Quotation Marks And Made It Weird

I think he hates freedom. Not sure that is where they are coming from at Michelin.
Missing the point. It’s in Fauci’s interest for you to think and be concerned about public health all the time and take overkill precautions. Hence a tire company saying “inspect your tires multiple times every day!”

I think his feelings about freedom, whether he wants more or less of it, are irrelevant. Ras hit the nail on the head. He’s run an organization that nobody in the general public cared or even knew about since the 80s, and he entered a gigantic spotlight overnight. He wants to keep that spotlight on himself.

Well, I learned something today. Thanks for the clarification.

I can buy that analogy.

I don’t think his feelings on freedom are irrelevant. The lack of value you place it on can enable you to prioritize other items more.

My point is that he probably isn't motivated by a desire to crack down on freedom. He does not have the authority to mandate anything that he advocates for.

He's motivated by a desire to keep himself and his organization relevant and in the spotlight; he doesn't want to let go of the visibility, cachet, and relevance he gained from the pandemic.
