Didn't say that at all. I resent that it is going to damage collegiate athletics for the majority of kids who won't go pro or enjoy 5 or 6 figure NIL deals. I resent that it is turning kids into mercenaries who don't give 2 craps about UT or any other school, only who pays best.
That’s been happening long before any NIL started. Players were getting paid under the table and majority care about getting to the league and choosing the school that will put them in the best position to do that, not their pride for the school they grew up loving. Sorry to burst your bubble

NIL hasn’t and won’t ruin College sports

I wish that there was a true minor league system for pros so people would shut up about this stupid crap. I won't watch or care just like I don't about the NFL.

I will always be a Vol no matter if it's all walk-ons with no schollarships.

Sadly, that's probably what the SEC is trending towards.

Already starting to consider whether my money would be better spent at ETSU. I'll always be a Vols fan, but that doesn't require an investment, only a TV.

Your brother needs help as well

Who's my brother?

So it sounds like we lead for the 5 star QB, 5 star Vic Burley, and are right at the top for 5 star Carnell Tate. Caleb Herring is a Vol without question, and he's a top 50 player who will likely move up. Not to mention we're going to land Desean Bishop, a freaking baller though he isn't ranked yet.

That '23 class is fixing to be special. This is what I hoped for with Heup. You knew that he was bringing an elite offense with QB development. QB's and skill players are going to want to play here. You have Garner, the goat defensive recruiter. This is looking like we're on our way.
Cataclysmic Earth changes are due, Bass. Significant events recurring on 400- and 12,000-year intervals.

Vols v Nature

What part

A little bit of all of it? Dave isn’t driving that deal. If portnoy were buying recruits directly, he’d buy them for Michigan. He’d make more money off the content around a Michigan title run than anything related to Deion and Jackson State. He’d sell 1.5 million worth of merch off a Michigan title.

Deion is employed by Barstool sports. It’s not like he and Dave are best friends so barstool bought some recruits for him.

That 1.5 million is pure speculation that started on the internet by a barstool parody account.(I don’t doubt that the number is accurate, might be low actually.)

It’s just not as cut and dry as Dave likes Deion and gave him 1.5 million for a recruit.

Vandy having portal success at our exact position of need is….something.

I guess he must really want to play with his brother because why would you want to go from Clemson to 3-9 Vandy.

Because you were already on a sinking ship and you might as well jump on an anchor that’s at the bottom to avoid the fall.

I'm well aware of the financial realities of recruitment. My bubble is fine.

I'm not opposed to NIL, but there is a huge difference in players being able to benefit from their name being on the jersey you bought vs it simply being a way for billionaires to legally buy athletes under the guise of NIL. The way it's currently structured, the rich will get richer, and everyone else will suffer. So yeah, I guess it is the American way.

He isn’t good so who cares. SLOW. We got enough slow. Lea will have success with Nashville private school kids being an MBA alum along with Barton Simmons. Kane would be horrible fit in our system

if it were truly the American way, we’d shut down everyone’s football program for a year or two with the exception of Alabama, Ohio st, Oklahoma and Clemson.

Could the Universities set the sport up as a field that offers a degree. . . so playing in the sport is part of earning the degree? Probably how it should have been from the very beginning.

Playing different sports in high-school would be credited like language, history, art, or mathematics classes.
Probably not and stay accredited. UT isn't a "trade school" that teaches welding as an end degree.
