Nolen: "If I was looking for NIL money..."

Not going to shred Nolens character because he didn't sign with UT but the Vols rebounded nicely with the players they did sign.

West and Phillips were good gets and they closed strong which is what they needed to do.

Pull in some difference makers on the back 7 of the defense from the portal and they should be OK on that side of the ball for next season.

Whatever was the cause is very odd. He chose a school with a cult like bizarre past but with very very deep pockets. And it’s not just him in the cycle… Texas A&M had the number one recruiting class in the nation. That never happens for teams that aren’t in championship games. So what gives? Obviously, there are some ridiculous benefits being handed out down there. And as for Nolan… If he wanted the very best coaching he would have come here. Rodney Garner is on questionably the best defensive line coach in college football. Look at the three other four-star defensive lineman we picked up on signing day. I believe no one talk the payments that are on the table now in Lou of becoming the very best he could possibly be calm and that huge NFL money three years down the road. Maybe he is good enough to get there anyway. Maybe not. He’s also going to have to compete with a couple of other five star kids to even get on the field there. And he doesn’t have an amazing developer there liked he’d have had here. Again, it just doesn’t add up.

Lol people think Jimbo isn't just a good recruiter? He always has been. Recruiting is still about relationships.

Yes, the NiL money will have a big swing, but everyone is doing it. Unless you have a unique competitive advtantage in that area, then it's back to square 1 - who can build those relationships and close?

Wish you well young man. But hope you have your worst games when you play UT,

He stated in the recruiting process that he had developed a very close and trusting relationship with the D line coach at A&M and, obviously, UT's effort was too little, too late. It's remarkable we came as close as we did, given our late entry in the chase. Give him a break--I'm sure he'll do fine.

Except Georgia can't use "come here and play for championships"🤣🤣

According to zippymoroco and other uga fans on these boards, kids come to uga because of rainbows, unicorns, and the general awesomeness of all things uga. Heck, they could even stop offering scholarships and kids would still line up at the door, because uga is just the greatest and bestest ever! :)

LMAO

::: cue the usual Vol fans who are uga defenders in 3....2.....1...:::

No idea how they keep stacking 5 and 4* QBs and yet start a 5’9 walk-on Flutie wanna be.

So he says that Tennessee has the right approach for NILs and he just wanted to go get an experience somewhere else, which he has a right to do, but yet some on here don't want to believe him and are convinced he is lying so ignorant fans of ours can still say we don't have a good NIL plan. Am I reading this correctly? Geez Louise.

I only watched him twice for a couple of minutes each -
Early in the season I thought - how is this kid rated so highly?
Watched a little in the playoffs - he has crazy quick closing speed for as big as he is.
His upside is extremely high. Not someone that will start as a freshman but if he works hard - he will be extremely good. You really can't teach - really big, really quick.
I don't know anything about him except what I've read here but I had the same reaction many years ago when I went to see a 5 star LB from here who we were recruiting. When the teams ran out the field it was obvious who the player was but in the game I had the same reaction. How is this guy rated highly? He went to another school and played very little. Was never a factor. That doesn't mean Nolen won't be but just shows you that not all 5 stars are worth their ranking.

Some people say money can’t buy happiness, but have you ever seen a guy on the back of a jet ski not grinning from ear to ear!

Nolen, an Under Armour All-American, chose the Aggies over Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Florida

If we are doing better than these three at NIL money, that would be super surprising - or maybe not. GA and Bubba have the incentive of "come here to play for championships". Gators? well they are a mess right now.

Thank God he didn't choose GAF!
