Nolen: "If I was looking for NIL money..."

Knoxville TV station quoted. If it was a Alabama station, he would have said that Bama offered the $$$ NIL.

Nolan is a freak athlete. Zero doubt. But he doesn’t have the mental toughness and makeup to be an elite player. For his sake, I hope he develops it.
It like the military special forces. There are big strong men who apply and go through the training but don’t make it. It’s because they don’t have the mental makeup that makes the best soldier on the team. Look at how many snaps our defense played in some games this year. A person who mentally quits or takes plays off, isn’t a good fit for this team.

He wants us to think that boosters here were going to have more money opening up than A&M? We got guys tabbed with wings places and cookies and fast food joints. Other schools are tying in deals to car dealers. Yeah bro Ill take the mega millionaires funneling money over the well off but not super rich small business owners. This is laughable.

Let's not kid ourselves .. kid is talented .. t9 be so big and quick .. he is a stud .. if he had came here we would be singing praises .. I think if he matures and toughens up .. he will be a major player

Volnation when the #1 lineman goes elsewhere : to soft, didn't want, overrated, lazy, ect. Surprised recruited over wasn't stated

Volnation when 2* signs : boom!, great get! CJH is going to coach this kid up! Film looks awesome!

You obviously haven’t seen him play this year. Lazy and out of shape. Took himself out of games several times. And on top of that, his family is toxic and cheaters

Kid is talented, doubt it matters. He takes too many plays off right now. He definitely could be a big factor at A&M but I would be surprised if we don’t see him in the portal trying to get more money.

Laughable that he put this crap out, everyone knew he was looking to get paid and you know what there’s nothing wrong with it. Hopefully everyone can figure out why he pulled out of ESD then shortly after that went back in. Kid is straight about getting paid.

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about this kid or his character.
I see posts about him being soft, lazy, etc. yet he is the #1 recruit?
I don't understand how he could be rated where he is and be soft and lazy.

Get informed. I invite you to go to Diamond Clear Media, a local site that broadcasts and rebroadcasts games of several teams in the Knoxville and surrounding areas. Powell is one of those. You can go watch every one of his regular season games FOR FREE. He is a physically gifted kid who they concentrated on defense, with a few Refrigerator Perry goal line carries.

My honest opinion is he does not have the motor to excel on defense but might make a great OL. Does not SEEM to have the killer drive like a Reggie White, Albert Haynesworth, or John Henderson. Go watch enough to see his body of work, not his highlight real and make your own evaluation and get to us.

Did I want his stars on signing day? Yes. Would I use a schollie with hope our staff could flip the swithch? Yes. Did I lose sleep because he wanted to dress up in uniforms day and night? Nope. I was much more saddened by not getting M'ba. But Rivals, 24/7, ESPN, and ON3 have not called me for counsel.

I heard Sonny Smith, the Auburn BB coach, say “I took the VCU job for the money. And let me tell you, when you only do it for the money, it’s time to get out. I should have just quit then.”

My 2 cents assumption is that he isn't in great shape and our practice because of tempo is too much, and not as bad at a&m. I know that's one of the bigger differences in college vs high school is conditioning, but just something in the back of my guessing mind.
