I hate analytics

What are your thoughts on Business analytics and the skills, technologies, and practices for continuous iterative exploration and investigation of past business performance?

He had 3 strong seasons after that 01 team. 03, 04, and 07. If you haven’t noticed, we haven’t won 10 games since. I might kill to have a 10 win season.

Saban and Meyer came into the league and blew Fulmer’s doors off, and he wasn’t even competitive with them. Having the lowest rated recruiting class at UT that I can ever remember despite coming of a trip to Atlanta just widened the gap more.

Another fact to put things in perspective: Kiffin inherited a roster with 2 walk-ons starting on either side of the ball.

Any thing suggesting Fulmer would have turned it around bucks the trend, and involves a lot of what ifs and conjecture.

I didn’t realize we were giving up that many sacks. Seemed like we were doing better there. Is it because it really didn’t matter much? If there was a sack with JG the drive seemed to be over.

We gave up a lot of sacks when vastly inferior players were manning OL positions thanks to injuries, and another reason that number is so high is because we run so many plays...a better stat to evaluate the OL would be sacks per play.

This staff continues to outperform expectations at every single benchmark and yet there are those that still question their abilites and strategies. I get it given our history but maybe, for once, when it comes to the portal where guys may not materialize till spring...CHILL THOSE HOLY TITS.

The staff was adding transfers after Spring football last year. I don't get "the coaches are missing out on transfers." None of us know what they are doing. For all we know they are talking to players everyday. Just don't understand blanket statements by some when they have no idea what the coaches are doing even after a great recruiting class. lol

Personally I hope they bring in a few more HS kids that didn't sign on ESD.

With how well we closed to flip some kids for ESD I have hopes we can get a few more of these HS kids in this class.

Beasley needs about 10-15 more pounds which I’m not sure he can handle. And I hope the young linebackers grow, but right now we need proven players to plug in to win now. I think all of the ILBs from this year will be better next year, but what does that mean? They were all bad except one. Can only go up.

I firmly believe that the staff has a much higher opinion of Beasley's future than we do. I think they see great potential where we only see crappy immediate results. I hope they are right.

Nolan said if his decision was based on NIL money he would have went to UT.

People don’t care that Pruitt paid players….. they care that we sucked while paying players…. I don’t get all the hate for our ex players/ coaches that have come back to be a part of the program…. If it doesn’t work…. Fire them and move on but still respect what they mean to the history of Tennessee athletics.

This notion that Phil or Pruitt destroyed the program is absolute nonsense…. It took one season to already be twice as good as when Pruitt took over.

It's standard football board groupthink to talk down former athletic directors, coaches, assistants, and players. After Richt left, we had Georgia fans who blamed every loss of the next 4 years on him, and he was one of the most successful coaches in UGA history. Assigning all negatives to people who are gone makes the future look brighter.

Ehhh, this doesn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies if I am reading that we aren't really working the portal right now unless they know something we don't... too many good kids there right now and if we don't jump, someone else will scoop them up and we may be playing against them next season.

It didn't seem that many wanted Hooker, Velus, Payton, Trimbley and that turned out pretty well.

mercy, some of us are just seeing what VQ was saying and know we still have some major needs to fill and it sounds like our staff is in wait and see mode, while everyone else is in the same position--- would hate for our staff to wait too long and miss out on some kids... Hopefully they are in on some LB's and others, but it will be interesting to see the comments change on here in a month or so if we don't end up picking up some good talent and are stuck grabbing what's left over... Guess we will see in a month or so...

You're right. They probably have no plan whatsoever. Just hope for the best and ride with what we have if we don't bet lucky.
