In Northwest Florida, the beaches were as crowded as I have ever seen them in July 2020. Most restaurants were too. Where I live there was still a mask mandate for a few months after that, but everything was open and restaurants were generally packed. People still weren't doing things like flying on planes much (I didn't fly again until Summer 2021), but that was mostly because of the uncertainty of what the COVID restrictions might be at your destination and most overseas travel was still banned, as opposed to a freak-out about the virus.I think it took a little longer honestly. More like spring of this year and when the Delta variant didn't turn out to be world ending. And the two subsequent variants...
People, generally speaking, are now treating Fauci as a laughingstock. The only people that still listen to him are the same ones thinking Biden is doing a great job. It's sad too because if (when) we get some really bad **** that Congress along, people won't know to take it serious because of the way he's acting as of late.
And it isn't like I spend a bunch of time around COVID deniers...the mandates at the time were pretty much followed and the vast majority of people I know have gotten the vaccine, but otherwise have allowed their lives to go on.
