Heupel hiring Garnes was so freaking smart.

I was stunned at the time and am even more stunned now that Harsin didn't keep him. All Garner did under Gus was recruit D-line studs, have one of the best D-lines in college football every year, and put a bunch of dudes in the league. Plus he's an Auburn alum. Harsin didn't have much in the way of SEC recruiting ties either, and did not retain him. Made absolutely no sense.
