You do understand that he is in the portal because he was benched for a freshman? He may be great but the reality is that he is just an upgrade from what they have.

Goes from the Penthouse to the Outhouse very quickly. Remember when he was the Heisman favorite coming into the season? If Lincoln Riley can’t fix him I don’t see Beamer making a huge difference. But USC is quietly putting together a solid 22 class and they will be better team next year for sure or at least should be.

My SC fan friend said Beamer recruited both of them to OK and he was one of Spurrier's top recruiters when he was there at SC. He said recruiting is his strong point but X's/O's not so much. Will need good assistants to coach them up.

They outrank Tennessee. I understood all the celebration, but I was concerned we might eat crow. Martinez losing Marquise Gilbert to a guy that's coached one year in the SEC isn't a good thing. These are portal guys. I still think we have plenty to celebrate and it isn't over yet.

The thing is, those are the only thing at that stadium. There are no other aesthetics around it. Looks like a giant upside down cockroach fell from the sky and they started playing football inside its thorax

Frank was as dirty a coach as there ever was but being in Blacksburg nobody paid attention. No coach at VT can match what Frank did because (from what I hear) the university won't put up with it anymore.

This is why wins vs SEC teams are worth celebrating. Every team has good players, some better than others, a few alot better but everyone has good athletes.

There aren’t really any electronics stores in Blacksburg - so that story sounds a little sketchy to me.

This is simply false. For a time, the team was turning a blind eye to some character issues (e.g. Marcus Vick) that were embarrassing the school, and the administration told them to clean it up. Beyond that, I am not aware of any accusations that Frank was “dirty”. He is a solid guy and Shane is as well.

This just upgraded SCs QB room. Beamer recruited him to Oklahoma. I think it was worth the risk for them as their QB play really held them back last year.

I may be an exception here but I think this kid can play. He’s shown flashes of it.
I’ve got a bad feeling about this. If he can keep a lid on himself he’s going to cause trouble next year.....

Beamer is taking a huge risk here. Ratler is the kind of guy that can destroy a locker room. I think the fact that he ended up at South Carolina as opposed to another school in an easier conference speaks volumes. I have a feeling his character issues kept several schools from being seriously interested.

It is 100% true. The administration was turning a blind eye to way more than a a few character issues with the players. Ever wonder where momma Vick got her corvette when Micheal was there?
