Hope Williams and Sampson are elite. Our running game took a step back without Evans playing as much. Rewatching games since I have nothing else to do but rest.

We just need Williams to be a true "big" back that can punish safeties or LBs for blitzing. Sampson has some prime time elite speed, hopefully he can pickup the rest of the system and takes well to coaching under Mack.

I don't think losing Evans will hurt much, Small and Wright looked more than capable at the end of the season and I expect both will improve.

I agree. But, gotta remember wright hadn’t played any football since 2019, was a freshman, still managed to get almost 400 yards rushing. And Small wasn’t healthy all season. Absolutely wish Evans didn’t leave but i think we’ll still have a very good run game next year

It'll balance itself out relatively soon imo. The only players making big $ will be established players eventually.

If the NIL rules aren't specifically spelled out soon, it's gonna continue to be a recruiting tool for the best players available. What was under the table will now be on the table. It is what it is and some colleges will always have a big advantage because of their stature in the game. We have to figure out how to be in that category

I'm sure we're pursuing all avenues, we probably just still aren't a priority destination for 5-star recruits.

We never have been. It takes time to develop that---just look at Barnes. It took him years to develop his foundation and now he gets his 5 stars. Hopefully, it'll happen with football if the staff stays together and develops the current players.
