Remember, the media outlets responsible for reporting on the effectiveness of the vaccines and the impacts of the virus are all sponsored (in great amounts) by Pfizer and other healthcare organizations.

call me crazy but wouldn't it make sense to modify the vaccine based on the variants we have now and use those for boosters? think about the PR problem of telling people who just got the booster of the original that in 3 or 4 months they should get a booster with the new recipe.

if the goal is to be forward looking seems we'd tone down the get the booster (or kids first version) right away talk focus on getting a better version of the vax

At best, they are skating where the puck is now and not where it is going. I say at best because I assumed that the original series of vaccines were based on the spike proteins of the most common variant in 2020. By the time they made it to market, there were other variants out there that made them essentially useless.

I'm giving them the benefit of doubt to even suggest this because I'm not sure if they are even modifying anything for this variant or any of the previous ones.

they aren't essentially useless - they may even work decently against Omicron. they could be better and even if they are already chasing they would theoretically still be better than using the original version.

I've been posting it all along but those promoting the Flori duh narrative have ignored the data. New York we were told was seeing fewer cases - well now they are up considerably since that claim as are hospitalization. Michigan is a disaster but yeah, it's Desantis that's the problem.

Moderna supposedly modified their booster for Delta. Pfizer didn't modify their booster at all. Of course, none of these are really vaccines.
