Disney World pauses COVID-19 vaccine mandate

Disney pauses vax mandate for employees. Lol, funny what happens when you are desperate for workers. “Science” took a backseat.
It’ll be happening elsewhere. I know our new Governor has said he will not get rid of mandates in place yet will place no mandates. He will take office after the deadline of Jan 4th and I hope reports of unemployment chap his butt. Not removing the mandates is an error.

The libs that keep posting “let them quit, we don’t need them” have zero understanding of losing even 7% of a workforce can be catastrophic to any business or agency. Police are a great example of that as they are already understaffed across most of the nation. We lose many more because of the mandates and it won’t take long for most places to end up like Detroit.

Had nothing to do with staffing and everything to do with Florida'a new law.
It had everything to do with both. I know people there and they are struggling with staff shortages right now. They’ve had to shut down theme park hotels because they don’t have enough people to run them.

I am well aware of the staffing challenges. Disney, like most companies of its type, has been struggling for employees for months. The situation has slightly improved for most but not where they would like it to be. Then Florida passes this law and Disney reversed course. It has zero to do with staffing and everything to do with the $50,000 fine per occurrence that Florida is issuing as a fine.

The way it’s looking, that’s the end game, too have to entire US looking like Detroit. That’s where we are headed.

One of the big resorts near here is running at half room capacity because of "restrictions", but "restrictions" that they cite don't exist. The reality is- if you talk to staff- dozens have quit over impending mandates.

Oh we have people retiring at 63 all the time for just those reasons. The practice of nursing requires you to be able to lift 50 lbs. ( In the job description) IN reality we move 50 to 150lbs off dead weight to bathe, change bandages and turning. That’s times several pts several times a night. Sometimes a patient will fight you turning them. Then you have force against your efforts which increases the amount of effort you have to put it. We get hurt all the time.
Last week we had 1/2 of our 14 pts with BMI >40. We were all exhausted.
Thanks for the insight. Nursing is tough business, always has been, always will be. Seems like dealing with unvaxxed Covid pts is par for the course.

Takes a special type of person to do it for long.

Nearly 90% of UK residents over 12 have been stuck at least once, 80% are fully vaxxed. Try harder.
Unless he's saying the government is fudging up the numbers to create peer pressure- which I would agree with.

Either way the scientific studies AND the state-by-state data over time are showing that the "vaccines" aren't doing a very good job.

The highly accomplished Dr. Paul Marik is the founder and Co-Chief Medical Officer at Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC) and long-time director of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital’s intensive care unit. He recently filed a lawsuit against Sentara Healthcare System because they refuse to let him treat his patients with the highly-effective drug Ivermectin, as well as other proven treatments in his established MATH+ Protocol.

In 2020, Dr. Marik founded FLCCC along with several other critical care specialists to “gather, research and share information among health care professionals and the public.” The single purpose of their collaboration was to meet COVID-19 head-on and save lives. Indeed, by analyzing, devising, and publicizing best-practice treatments for the virus, Dr. Marik and his colleagues pioneered treatment protocols that have become standard of care. One such regimen is known as the MATH+ Protocol, which doctors worldwide use to treat COVID-19.

With such proven treatments, the complaint, filed Nov. 8, 2021, in the Circuit Court for the City of Norfolk, Virginia, states that Sentara Healthcare is “preventing terminally ill COVID patients from exercising their right to choose and to receive safe, potentially life-saving treatment determined to be appropriate for them by their attending physician.” Following Sentara’s directive that he could no longer administer the protocols he’s successfully used to reduce COVID deaths by as much as 50%, Dr. Marik said he could no longer stand by while patients needlessly die without proper treatment

I seriously can't take the absurdity any longer, and as an Admin, I'm not supposed to ignore anyone.

I'm going to step out for awhile but will post back if anything big happens on the hospital/mandate front. CV is basically a non-issue now in my world, anyway. We have been steady at 1-3 cases/week, none any more ill than a typical cold. I'm honestly just ready to talk about something else...
