It's crazy. Her dept is therapy. No one with covid comes to their therapy appt. She wears her n95 mask, and everyone who wants the vaccine has taken it.

FYI. The FDA has recalled 387 drugs since Aug of 2017. That's about 8 per month. Not all recalls were for bad outcomes. Some were for benign reasons.

But how are we supposed to have confidence with stats like this?

It's bewildering. I don't understand the hard line either. Her therapists who had it and have acquired immunity must get the vax, too. That sounds more like dogma than science to me.

I made this comment about Nashville the other day and that was labeled as hyperbole. It will be even worse in small communities.

Sadly I think it's just political. Polling must be telling the WH it's a win when they are surrounded by losses. Those losing jobs don't matter in the calculus.

As you point out a science driven policy would at least account for naturally acquired immunity.

A cost/benefit analysis would consider staffing impact on a crucial industry in a healthcare crisis; particularly when there are already shortages and people leaving the profession for other reasons.

Ironically, Mad4 posted an Atlantic article about the pending exodus from HC. Not surprisingly it was only worried about those leaving because they were mad at the unvaccinated

not sure they can avoid the Federal employee/contractor mandate.

This is the real issue with massive legislation like BBB - it creates a dependence on Federal $ by law then uses that dependence to require whatever those current power holders want.
