Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Very long but interesting review of the science and resultant theory on efficacy of Ivermectin. The upshot - it maybe that studies showing it's effective are linked to a comorbidity of worm infection in the population.

"As several doctors and researchers have pointed out (h/t especially Avi Bitterman and David Boulware), the most impressive studies come from places that are teeming with worms. Mahmud from Bangladesh, Ravakirti from East India, Lopez-Medina from Colombia, etc."

"Add them all up and somewhere between half and a quarter of people in the developing world have at least one parasitic worm in their body. Being full of worms may impact your ability to fight coronavirus."

"Treatment of worm infections might reduce the negative effect of COVID-19! And ivermectin is a deworming drug! You can see where this is going…

The most relevant species of worm here is the roundworm Strongyloides stercoralis. Among the commonest treatments for COVID-19 is corticosteroids, a type of immunosuppresant drug. The types of immune responses it suppresses do more harm than good in coronavirus, so turning them off limits collateral damage and makes patients better on net. But these are also the types of immune responses that control Strongyloides. If you turn them off even very briefly, the worms multiply out of control, you get what’s called “Strongyloides hyperinfection”, and pretty often you die."

Health professionals can do so much harm when they disseminate misinformation under the authority of their license.

can we apply this to HC officials in the government? because there's a long list of misinformation instances from the very top of the heap on down.

What amongst these are “misinformation?”

Covid was potentially bioengineered.
Covid affects predominantly unhealthy adults.
Covid-based natural immunity is effective.
Covid vaccines have no long term safety data.
Covid vaccine immunity is waning with time.
There are potential unknown risks of Covid vaccine.
Covid vaccines are partially effective against hospitalizations and death.
Covid vaccine manufacturers have had historic economic gain.
Covid vaccine manufacturers are not liable for any vaccine related adversity.
Covid vaccine booster is not tailored to the current predominant strain.

I could go on. And I’m not “anti-vax.” I actually do believe that it’s “safe and effective.” But I can’t imagine a more ineffective way to address valid concerns than to minimalize them and marginalize those who hold them.

And that’s the kind of garbage I worry about for people like our own kiddiedoc. They will come after you for questioning them.

This very neatly sums up my questions that never get answered. Apparently asking these rather than trusting the people that have the largest criminal fine of all time makes me "anti-science".

How does a nurse prolong the pandemic via social media? Are they shipping bottles of their coughs out?

Never ends

"Fauci added during the White House briefing Friday that he didn’t believe the U.S. would ever completely eliminate new cases of COVID-19 but that federal officials wanted to gain control over the virus and accept it as an endemic ailment. When pressed to say what number of daily cases would be tolerable, Fauci said he couldn’t name a figure but that it was much lower than the current rates of new cases."

This along with him saying "fully vaccinated" now means you've had the booster.

At least until they deem the next booster is needed.

Welp. McMom may be terminated if her religious exemption isn't "approved" by her hospital. I guess not firing people for their religious beliefs is against the law only when blackmail with Medicare money isn't in play.

sorry to hear but I guess McMom is on the wrong end of the continuum of societal progress
