No!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤬View attachment 412608🤬View attachment 412609🤬

They say that the demographics don’t support it, but that’s ridiculous. The greater Asheville/Hendersonville area has a big retirement community with a lot of income to throw around and not many places to throw it at.

It’s especially galling, because they built one store in Greenville and another in Spartanburg, twenty-freakin’-two miles away. View attachment 412610

There’s another one in Charlotte, but I’d rather be buried in a fire ant hill than go to Charlotte to do much of anything at all, other than change planes. (Sorry @volwindy and @VolInNorthCack)

Edit to add: Boone people would come to an AVL Costco, Tri-Cities people would come (hell, they drive to our Trader Joe’s), Waynesville, Cherokee…
No offense taken. I hate Charlotte too. And I have to live here. For the time being at least.

Does that Costco do the early hours for seniors? Maybe your hubby would qualify? That's the only time to go to Costco, IMO. No crowds.
Not anymore. We did go early a few times, and then it was crowded with other old farts. 🤪 (We both easily qualified, bless your heart. 💕)

It’s not particularly crowded these days when we go (around 10 or 11.) It’s got those huge high ceilings, we’re both vaccinated and boostered and wear masks when we’re around others, and that feels comfortable enough. We try to live our lives in a common-sense sort of way, I guess.

The one in Charlotte is in a business park, so it's nice.

Wait...hate Charlotte? Why?
The traffic is getting unbearable. it takes me over an hour to drive to work from Waxhaw. And an hour and a half to get home. The taxes are going through the roof. Crime is getting out of hand. It's turning into a little smaller Atlanta.

Much like Nashville and to some extent Knoxville. Why I retired to the boonies in W. KY. Sam's AND Costco 45 mins away in Clarksville.

I mean that's what you get with a city.

I can't recall if I've asked, but have you had Rosatis? I'm wanting to try..but the commute to Waxhaw..😄
