Kyle Rittenhouse - The Truth in 11 Minutes

you have to ask is the prosecutor asking questions of Rittenhouse he is not supposed to (eg. remaining silent when confronted by the police) or the judge asking for applause for a (the only one in the room) veteran on Veteran's Day more likely to impact the jury?

I notice the people most aggrieved by the latter are silent on the former even though the former is considered a violation of the defendant's Constitutional rights.

There is a pretty strong "mote in the eye" thing going on there.

Which amendment in the constitution did the judge ignore or violate in order to applaud veterans on VETERANS DAY?
Obviously you're kind of a moron, so you can't understand that I think Rittenhouse acted in self-defense and the judge acted inappropriately.

This is a whole lot of Pearl clutching over nothing.
You're smart enough to understand that Rittenhouse might be not guilty, but the judge still went over the line. What is the purpose of a judge opening court during a criminal trial, bringing the jury in, asking everyone to applaud people (the only one being a witness), then commencing with the trial? People can have separate opinions on Rittenhouse and the judge, it doesn't make them a flaming libtard like everyone wants to think.

I’m also smart enough to know that people respect veterans and there’s no ****ing way the judge could know there was only one veteran in the building. This is a bull **** attempt to find anything to cry about. It was Veterans Day and would not change anyone’s opinion on the trial in any way.

it’s Pearl Clutching performance art.

One might even call it… grandstanding!

I'll add one more question that I'm sure we won't find the answer to... how many times has this judge stopped court to honor veterans in the past?

The middle of a trial is not the place for it.

You’re late to the party. I’ve already requested that before we label this instance as unique in his behavior how about we examine his behavior in this trial to previous ones. I didn’t limit it to just Veterans Day acknowledgments however but I’m not as invested in that as you are 🤷‍♂️

what did the veteran testify to?

it seems the underlying issue is that there's concern this would bias the jury to add extra credence to this particular witness. So what was the key information from this witness?

again I go back to the seeming lack of concern that the prosecutor violated the rights of the defendant by asking questions that are not allowed and are meant to imply guilt of the defendant for merely exercising a Constitutional right.

if we are worried about jury bias where was it more likely to have occurred?

I know you're an engineer so everything is black or white to you, but I can think the judge is wrong and Rittenhouse acted in self-defense.

in the pantheon of bad behavior do you rate the judge's action were more wrong, as wrong or less wrong than the prosecutor's line of questioning to Rittenhouse about his decision to not talk to the cops?

How many courts, other than this case right now, are actually open and in session on Veterans Day?

I dont consider either to be appropriate and neither of those things should have happened in front of a jury. I don't really know how to put them on a continuum because neither was appropriate.

He was the expert that used the audio tracks from the video evidence to show the timeframes in tenths of a second for each of the gunfire events of the night.

Lol… things are rarely black or white in engineering. That’s a very common misconception that we are just automotons that you turn a crank on and the same process is repeated every time. Design engineering is physics meets impressionist art. Not until you get to the end of an issue and find an offending part which is either broke or not broke.

Well of course it is. You want to know how many times the Judge has previously recognized veterans and I simply pointed out that courts are usually not in session on Veterans Day. This trial is an exception to the norm by operating on a usual holiday.
How many times has he been in court on Veterans day and how many times has he stopped a trial in front of a jury to point this out? Its relevant and neither of us have the answers.

I doubt that's how it is in your working world, but its definitely how you guys come across with any non-engineer that has to deal with you. I dont mean that as an insult, but you know what I'm talking about. Especially with message boards. [Sunglasses emoji]
